Based on my “the best Mexican restaurants have Mexican names” theory, I decided to have lunch here. I was a little surprised to see only one couple dining but I wanted to give them a chance. The staff was attentive and I was seated immediate. Chips and salsa soon arrived. The salads was very tasty but was not hot. I ordered the 3 street tacos plate with rice and beans. I would have liked to see more meat in the tacos. The food was good and I cleaned my plate. The waitress had brought out two salsas in squeeze bottles but they were watered down and were not good. The food was good and I would return to try something else.

UPDATED because we come here almost 2-3 times a month. Chips and salsa l upon sitting at a table. Go to Appetizers: Chicken pecan flautas and picadillo (ground beef) nachos Entrees: any enchiladas, authentic tacos, queso topped burrito, chimichanga with the best ranchero sauce. Each comes with rice and beans (we always do double rice) Dessert: Churros w/ ice cream EVERYTHING is always fresh, hot and tastes good! Presentation of the food on each plate was nice. Omar, our waiter, had a great personality and didn't hover. We will be back to try the authentic tacos next time. Great experience overall.

First time here & I was NOT disappointed. This place is San Antonio good! The horchata is just sweet enough & ice cold. The salsa is piping hot & very flavorful! I got the lunch portion of the Plato Tijuana. Beautifully plated & tastes delicious! The beans has a distinctive smoky flavor that I loved. The enchilada was perfect & the picadillo in the crispy taco was so good! I can't wait to come back! Glad I found this place!

I look so forward to eating here. I've had quite a few dishes now, and none have disappointed at all. Everything is so good. I say this, because my friend that brought me here, and the others we invite to Taco Regio, and what they ordered, said it was absolutely amazing. Each had only wonderful things to say about the food and the service. I try to eat there a few times a month. Oh... you've got to order the Steak Fajitas. It is a must. If you do not like steak, then the chicken. I say everyone order something and share. If you have a big group, then make sure to order several of the Steak Fajitas. Or get half steak, half chicken. I LOVE the Steak Fajitas. Another must have... the large guacamole. Put a lil salt in that Guac too.. There hot sauce is so good!!! I love their shredded pork enchiladas with verde sauce.

Bring your family, bring your friends, you'll be so happy you did. And you, your family and friends will thank you for the invite. And, you all might just call this one of your favorite places to eat. And... this will be a place you will return to over and over again.

Do not miss out on such a fantastic meal and...

I had the immense pleasure of trying out a restaurant that has been around for more than a year, but I kept forgetting to try till today. We tried Taco Regio. We tried the sour cream chicken enchiladas and the cheese enchiladas. Both dishes came with rice and beans. The chicken was tender and flavorful, wrapped in a perfectly warmed corn tortilla and the sour cream sauce was creamy and tangy and the perfect consistency with a sprinkle of cheddar for color and bite. The cheese enchiladas were not heavy at all. The cheese had the right amount of sharpness, rolled in a soft corn tortilla, covered in the perfect amount of the most tender and perfectly seasoned chili con carne. The beans are amazing. They are creamy, with a hint of smoky bacon. The rice is fluffy and has bits of sweet corn to balance the cumin. It's been a LONG time since I've had food this good. Please make sure you order from here as soon as you can, and help make sure to keep this family owned, non chain restaurant alive and thriving! The owner, Omar cooks from family recipes and love for the food, and it totally shows. I can't wait to try other things...

Great little taqueria, serving street tacos as well as a variety of other dishes. Their tacos are tasty, and their salsas very unique, but in truth I found the taco meats a little bland in comparison to my favourite local taqueria. Even with onions, cilantro, and salsa, the flavour was a bit flat; it needs something—perhaps a longer marinade, or more spices.

But that nitpickery aside, the food is delicious. I believe the highlight is really the dessert menu: flan, tres leches cake, and sopapillas TO GO. OMG! They also have Mexican Coke (yay!), but unfortunately no horchata (boo), which is why I give them 4 stars rather than 5.

It's really nice to have a taqueria in the DWG area, and although they have a ways to go before they are fully established, I think they can become a local gem. You should definitely give Taco...
