Went into the runner store today. It was very busy. I was there for a little while did not mind the wait. A young man named John approached me and said have you been helped and I said no. He asked me what I was looking for. I told him what type of shoe I was wanting and why and that I was going to buy 4 pair of shoes today. He gave me several suggestions measured my foot and then went to find my shoes. I sat down and waited. Then this little girl came up flop down in front of me and said John's niece came in and he's going to visit with her so I'm going to take over for him. We don't have your shoe size so let's start over again tell me what you're looking for. I said so John is unavailable because he's visiting with his niece? She said yeah he hasn't seen her in a while and he wants to visit with her. So basically I'm a customer and irrelevant? At this point I was a bit stund. So I decided that I didn't want any shoes. I got up ask for the owner she came out and very happily said well someone else can help you. I explained to her that I didn't feel like that was appropriate or professional and I didn't want anything and I left. I decided to call the owner back and discuss the situation with her. I was not going to make a scene. She explained to me that John had been out of town for 3 weeks and had not seen his niece and his mother was babysitting and wanted out of the house. So the busiest time of their day family comes up and the customer is not important. She said well we're family owned and family is everything. I suppose I could understand this if I too did not own a family-owned business. I have always felt my customers always came first. Walking away and abandoning a customer is unprofessional and totally should be avoided. If you don't take care of your customers how do you expect to keep your business open? She explained to me that she was never going to be able to make me happy and that's where the conversation ended I will never go back to the runner...
Read moreWonderful service! I wish I’d come here before all my foot issues. Sadly with my feet being in a bit of a mess finding shoes that feel good is very difficult for me. So I’ve been to many shoe stores and have had to make quite a few returns.
With The Runner Shop and the gentleman Sean (I believe) that helps me I’ve never been made to feel bad for making a return and he’s always willing to try as many models of shoes that need be for something that might work for me. I usually feel so embarrassed shopping at shoe stores in general because of my large feet and foot issues but I truly really feel welcome here.
The associates listen to your concerns, look at how you walk and go from there.
My mom was fitted by a young lady associate that was still in training a little while ago and not only was she able to get some shoes ordered for her that fit and have eased her pain while working her long hours walking back and forth on concrete, but she commented that the young lady was very helpful!
They have a very wide range of sizes and if your size isn’t available, they can always order it for you and you’re under no obligation to purchase your order if you change your mind nor do you have to put up any money to make your order.
You’re not just treated like a customer, you’re treated like a close friend here and I would highly recommend The Runner Shop...
Read moreCouldn't have been better ( : Did not know what to expect on the way to The Runner today. I figured over priced shoes and employees who are just trying to get you to buy something. I couldn't have been more wrong. When I walked in I was instantly helped by Dane. He ask me a few questions to help him figured out what I was looking for. Having low arches, shoe buying has always been and long and unfruitful endeavor. After explaining my problem and that I wanted to start running, he ask me If I would like for him to look at my feet and the way I walk to fit me in the best shoe. There is only a 10 dollar fitting charge if you do not order / purchase any shoes that day after being assessed and I would have gladly paid 10 any day than waist 100+ on the wrong shoe. Shortly after checking my gait, arch and amount of pronation, he came back with three shoes of which match my individual needs. The 2nd shoe I tried was the winner , never have thought shoes could be so comfy. So how much ?.. I'm thinking ok here it is 200 - 250 - 175. My cost 120 before tax. So when I get home I go and look up the shoes that I just bought ( you know .... to check the overhead ) I couldn't even find a mark up, online they sell for 120... So to you The Runner I give you two thumbs up , or in this case Five Stars.... Great...
