Celiac/gluten free info//vegan review Food 10/10 Serice 10/10
It is always difficult to find restaurants that take dietary restrictions seriously, but to find a place that embraces it and puts out a quality product, that's pure gold. I've found it right here with Troy's Italian Kitchen. Their website has a tab SPECIFICALLY listing the common food allergies you may find in their products and the menu lists a whole VEGAN SECTION as opposed to your typical "can be prepared vegan". Which is wonderful to have a menu dedicated to making great tasting food rather than having to "make it work" when ordering out with friends who don't share the same diet. As a non-vegan and lacking a gluten allergy who is partners with someone who is, find it wonderful that we have found a place we can both eat who's food is fantastic. The menu, in general is quite extensive, with a large list of signature pizzas. Some which are common, such as a "supreme" or "hawaiian". But others that are more unique, such as the "tikki masala" or "the big dill". sides, wings, apps, salads and pasta are all on there too. The large menu was a big overwhelming, but ensures that there is something for everyone.
Food: Vegan Wings (Gochujang sauce) - BEST...VEGAN WINGS... EVER... I don't typically order vegan wings, I don't typically order asian sauces from Italian food joints. But I did, and don't regret it. The "wings" are presented on a stick which is a nice handle to have. The texture was great. A nice chew and pull to them vs a lot of the spongier texture I find with vegan wings. They are seasoned, and are gluten free! I can't speak to whether they are fried, and if they are, can't speak to whether the frier is shared with non-gluten items. I WILL EAT THESE AGAIN because I have to try all of the sauces now.
Gluten-free, Vegan "The Big Dill" - Pre-face... I don't generally order white pizzas. To me, I need my red sauce. Additionally, I don't generally care for pizzas that dont use toppings that you would find on a supreme pizza (pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, peppers, onion, black olive) or isn't a hawaiian. But when your wife wants to try it, you gotta try it. This pizza boasts vegan cheese, vegan bacon, pickles, red onions, and vegan ranch. The Gluten-free crust was lovely. Textured like a well made, thin-crust pizza. Perfectly rounded, and the toppings were distributed pretty evenly, so there's no fighting for "the best slice". The big flavors of pickles and onions were calmed down and balanced by the richness of the ranch, and the garlic oil rounded out and boosted all of the flavors. The vegan cheese was stellar. beautiful and rich and melted everywhere. We didn't leave any to take home.
Service: From phone call, to counter, to departure, the service and attentiveness was excellent. The gentleman who took out order (presuming it was an owner) was very accommodating and knowledgable about food allergies, and gluten allergies. "If you have a severe allergy at all, I tell everyone that they shouldn't go to a pizza place. But we have a different prep surface and change gloves for orders with gluten allergies." It is wonderful to have someone care vs. be annoyed at the allergy. We felt safe, and my wife felt heard.
For a place that hasn't been around too long, this place really is an example of what food service should be. We will be making the journey back here for a lifetime. Love this, highly recommend. Can't wait to try their glutened and non-vegan...

Troy’s Italian Kitchen (Troy's) in Arlington, VA, is a hidden gem for pizza. Since moving to DC area (we reside in Arlington near Troy’s), we had been searching for a great pizza place before coming to Troy's. Mind you, we are used to NY pizza.
As for the pizza, by far, great taste, and well-baked (other places don’t bake the pizza to our satisfaction). We usually order our large mushroom and pepperoni pizza pie. To boot, the prices are reasonable.
We had been ordering from Troy’s for a while when we made a mistake - and ordered using a third-party delivery service. We had a bad experience with the third-party delivery driver and were going to give up on Troy’s but we decided to call the owner and we are happy we did.
The Troy’s owner is a responsible individual and we sure hope everyone gets to meet him. The owner stepped right in to help and resolved the problem caused by a third-party delivery driver/service we mistakenly used to order a pizza from Troy. Troy demonstrated why they are highly rated by customers (we had also initially researched them prior to ordering pizza from them some time ago) and showed us they not only want our business, but that they were equally upset by the reflection left by the third-party driver on Troy. Troy owner treated us with great customer service and went above and beyond to erase the bad experience we had with the third party-delivery driver.
We highly recommend Troy’s Italian Kitchen. Simply, we can't find any faults and we look forward to our next pizza pie from...
