Happy Bee, Happy Me
Formerly Rice on Dish, Happy Bee Kitchen has been on my weekly food rotation. Delicious Chinese food, served by friendly & caring staff who remembers their customers. As per usual, lunch specials are what I go for when it comes to Chinese food.
Stir-fried beef w/ ginger & scallions- So tender! Beef, in all it's iterations, is my litmus test for a Chinese restaurant, and Happy Bee's stir-fried beef w/ ginger & scallions is a winner. Packed with flavor, I'd order this again in a heartbeat. That is, if I don't choose Mongolian beef.
Peking duck- Love that crispy skin! The Peking duck was succulently decadent. The meat was unctuous with all the duck fat, and when paired with baos, vegetables & sauce, a filling & satisfying entree.
Curry chicken- Normally I don't order curry dishes, as most restaurants (usually Thai) serve curry with more potatoes than protein. Here, at Happy Bee, I'm delighted to say their curry chicken was predominantly chicken. Oh so tender chicken! The bell peppers & curry provided a good amount of heat, enhanced by the addition of chili oil on my part. Really good!
Service has been excellent. The staff have always been hospitable & cheerful the times I've been at Happy Bee. A good amount of seating via tables & booths, with 1 large banquet table w/ a Lazy Susan. Parking is at the 99 Ranch Plaza, with Happy Bee located next to It's Boba Time & Let's Sea Bag n' Roll at the southside of the plaza.
Wonderful food, wonderful people. Happy Bee Kitchen is one of my favorite places to eat weekly. I'm having a delightful time exploring their menu, and am looking forward to what culinary delight awaits me next....
Read moreMy husband and I had the best experience at this lovely restaurant . The food was delicious and truly authentic Cantonese cuisine . They used the best fresh ingredients and flavored everything just right , not greasy or salty . I love the cleanliness of this restaurant and best of all friendly welcoming service from all the staff . I had a pleasure to meet the lovely new owner , Grace and her sister Kimmy . They are so sweet so kind and generous, their chefs are came from a famous and respectable restaurant in Hong Kong and China . I ordered 3 simple dishes : the first is their famous Hainan Chicken, it was juicy flavorful and definitely delicious. Second is seafood tofu hotpot , there are plenty of fresh seafood , tofu and mushroom I ate so much and still have lots of left over , third one is sautée sweet pea sprout with garlic it’s fresh crunchy and super flavorful. Because we love the food so much I also ordered Togo the Honey walnut shrimp for our kids . This place by far is one of the best Chinese restaurant in Cerritos and Artesia area , and it’s definitely our favorite place to come for delicious meal & friendly service. Read moreIt's our first visit and it happened to be a lunch on a Saturday. It wasn't too crowded but it seemed like the staff were all preoccupied. We stood for several minutes and waited for someone to usher us to a table. We almost walked out after several minutes of waiting, until someone cleaned the nearby table and with an apologetic look, led us to our table.
They served roasted peanuts as appetizer. No one came around to give us a menu so I went to the counter and asked for a menu myself. I scanned the room and no one seems to think to service our table until I locked eyes with the person who seated us She finally walked towards our table and took our order.
We ordered all classic Chinese dishes: wonton noodles soup, honey walnut shrimp, clam with black bean sauce, and chow fun with beef. They redeem themselves with their food. The servings were generous, all food tasted great. My favorite, hands down would be the soup and honey walnut shrimp.
June took care of us from beginning to end. She checked in on us frequently. She was polite, respectful, and courteous. We will come back again for sure to try out...
