I came to this place since they opened, always had a good time dining there. Until today, my friend and I went and at first there was a lady wearing mask (long gold hair) she was our server and her face doesnt look happy to work, that’s alright. She asked me for drinks and after that I told her I’m ready to order. Its $35 AYCE Hotpot..but i just order 2 meats and 2-3 veggies and havent finished, she started having reactions and said anything else? So i continued ordered 1 item, she said again “anything else” in rushy way, so i had to stop ordering.
I ordered Mala with the highest spicy level (what I usually get), it comes with no spicy, thats ok, i didnt want to bother her. After that a few minutes, our food came which is missing some items we ordered, I didnt say a word. Until our second round, i had to wave to call her to order because none of staff around and they’re hanging together at the bar. When she came, i ordered another pork belly and she said right away “anything else” ? I was like…i haven’t finished and I told her I didn’t get some items at my first round, she asked me what else did i want. After that, we waited for about 20 mins until my friend had to walk to the bar to them and said we didn’t get order and found out that that server didn’t put order in for us. In the meantime, the table next to ours, their pot burnt and have smoke which you can see how inattentive their servers were. There’re not even half of the house at that time and there’re 2-3 servers which is enough to take care customers which they choose not to do that.
That lady server named Pearl/ phoeng or something around that im not sure her exact name that other server told me, she seemed angry and speak very loud and aggressive in her own language maybe Chinese?! Which me and my friend look at each other and confirmed that she talked about us and she never came to our table anymore since we finished order 2nd round with her. At least come and apologize or explain any reasons? She tried to hind away behind the bar and asked other server to take care us instead of her.
Finally, the owner came, so i did explained and she said saying sorry maybe they’re busy (which is not!) if your staff have time talking/ eating their food at bar and hanging around, it shouldnt be considered busy.
This is the worst out of every time I visit and 1 star is too much for that rude lady server. I hope they will train their staff better or hire professional ones or...
Read moreMy family and I, along with my cousin, visited this hotpot restaurant for a family dinner. My cousin and I opted for the all-you-can-eat option, while our younger children (ages 10-14) wanted custom pots.
Upon placing our order, the hostess informed us that everyone at the table must choose the all-you-can-eat option and said she would check with her manager. When the manager arrived, his demeanor was very unwelcoming. Instead of asking how he could assist us, he bluntly stated that this was the house rule and walked away.
Understanding the policy, I suggested splitting our table’s bill into separate checks since our table was long. However, the manager returned even more rudely and made us all feel very uncomfortable. He pointed to a table on the other side of the restaurant, which was unacceptable given that we had young children with us.
Despite the unpleasant encounter, we decided to stay together as a family and ordered extra meat, which ended up costing more than the all-you-can-eat option.
To top it off, when we received our bill, an 18% gratuity was added for a large group, despite our party consisting of only 5 people. The policy clearly stated that the gratuity applies to parties of 8 or more.
This experience was extremely unprofessional and left us feeling very uncomfortable, especially in front of our young children. I expected better service and a more pleasant...
Read moreAround two weeks ago, My family went to this restaurant with our friend’s family in total 6 people. This restaurant charged us 18% big group service fee while they claimed on both their menu and receipt that they charge 18% service fee for a group of 8 and up. Besides the service fee, they also asked us to tip. I noticed the 18% service charge after I was back home and took a glance of the receipt. I was a bit confused at that time and thus called the restaurant for explanation. The first time I was told it was my own mistake by not paying attention to the sign they put at the front door. We went there for dinner in a chilly day. Why should they expect customers will stop and read some note outside the entrance door? Shocked by how the staff responded, I called again the second day (tried to talk to a manager) and asked if they have time to put a sign at the door why they didn’t change the statement of service fee on the Menu (I believe every one will read the menu) and the receipt? of course the staff failed to answer my question, instead I was told they made a note and will have their manager call me back, which never happened. I want to make the point that it’s not the extra service charge that drove me mad. It’s the evidence that they intend to cheat on customers with a hidden fee. Please be honest and consistent when...
