Have never written a review for a restaurant in my life.. but after this past Sundays experience and having been to bar Louie many times with a great experience, I felt the need to leave this review so another customer doesn’t receive the same experience and improvements can be made.
I came in this past Sunday to watch the games and enjoy some food and beverages. The bartender on duty at the time, a manager I’ve had little interaction with in previous visits, was named pattie I believe.
Upon sitting at the bar I ask her if a couple of my favorite bartenders were working today as she replied very direct and snarky “no one is here” .. So I asked do you know if either come in today and yet again very short “no one is here”.. I didn’t pay this much mind even tho she just seemed rude and unhappy to be in there I continued to watch the games and finish some work on my phone/computer.
As I’m on the phone with a client of mine working an estimate out on my computer, I tend to shake my leg when sitting still as I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD and have hard time sitting completely still (note I was the only person at the bar besides two at a high top behind me) and she comes over and put her face across the bar near mine and interrupts work call telling me to stop “moving my leg” which really agitated/irritated me as it was extremely rude while im working.. not a hard person to please when it comes to dining experience.. but it’s commons sense to have the decency to wait till I’m off the phone even though I saw it as wrong of her to ask me even if I wasn’t off the phone as it seemed more of a control thing for her since I’ve never had any person at a bar or restraint ask me such a bizarre thing.
The experience after that was awkward as it was taking more than reasonable amount of time for refills, as well as the bacon egg and cheese I’ve gotten multiple times was very dry and under par for some reason which I didn’t even mentions and paid full price due to the environment she had made.
Usually love this place! But I would check twice if she’s in there bartending before you sit down for drink or food.
P.S If Dayqwan, Devon, Jo, or malechi are working the bar I have only had AMAZING experiences and...

I would give 5 stars to this Bar Louie, just for eating the best Gastroburger in every Bar Louie I have been and getting really quick service, however fries without special iron cup, so they are getting cold faster. No napkins served, I had to take them myself from the bar. Tap water was good. I did not got exhaustive answer on my question about beers and happy hours. Still better then the Herndon location. There is a total mess, in my opinion.
I have the feeling that in every Bar Louie the waiters are lacking the knowledge of the basics of the customer service and they have zero enthusiasm. I think this matter should be considered by higher lever authorities in the Bar Louie world.
Since I know that the waiters work for very small basic salary, I keep giving them,as always, tips above the average, but slowly I tend to think, that all these guys take these tips from customers for granted.
Maybe it is our, customers fault, that we do not educate these unenthusiastic waiters, by tipping them lower or not tipping at all and requesting general manager? Or maybe we customers are too cowardly, assuming that these waiters can do something bad to our ordered food and drinks?
At the end of the day, I think, as a customer, I do not have to waist my time and nerves to deal with any negativity in any place, writing so much, etc.
That is why Bar louie hires managers, that have to professionally manage the place in every possible way, including waiters, bartenders etc. and not just answering here on revues pretending that they care. Perception of job well done can not become a reality, if it is not really well done, especially in private sector...
Read moreWe recently spent an evening at Bar Louie to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday. We had a great time (great friends and company) but overall, the location itself was just "okay."
First, the Pros/Good points:
My friend had reserved a section to be used just for her friends/guests and that was set aside as promised with plenty of table space and room. They also had glasses and pitchers of water on the table in advance. Also, our waiter was great! He split the check for us (which couldn't have been easy 2 hours in with like 6 different checks) without complaint. He was also attentive , and even though drinks were slow to come out sometimes (newer bartender), he was forthcoming with that info so we weren't left waiting and wondering. Finally, the drinks "tasted" good. I had the Grand Lemon Drop Martini, The Star Martini and The Long Island Iced Tea. As well as several Lemon Drop shots. The atmosphere was also okay as it was not too loud to have a conversation.
Now, the Cons/Bad points:
The drinks, while tasting good, were just WEAK. Of course you don't want them so strong that people get too drunk, you also should not just be drinking mostly sugar and mixer. I am not sure if this is due to their policy or the bartender, but, if I am going out for a night on the town with friends, I want their to be actual alcohol in my drinks. So, just be aware.
So, overall, not a bad night, but again, just "ok." There weren't a lot of people there (other bars in One Loudoun were quite busy) so it just got boring/slow fast. But we weren't there for a HUGE crowd. We were there for our friend.
I would recommend this place maybe to start or if you want a quieter spot (without blasting music) but but not if you want drinks with a generous (or...
