Passed this place a couple times and wanted to check it out. The outside of the building looks awesome. Went there for dinner to check out the BBQ. Did not try the beer at all. So I'm not saying the beer is bad. I had the pulled pork sandwich with two sides, Mac & cheese, and colored greens. The greens were not bad, on the better side of greens I have had. The Mac & cheese was not very good for a BBQ joint. It was bland and watery. Now to the pulled pork. It was on the dry side with little to no smoke flavoring. There wasn't a lot of choices for BBQ sauces to add to the meat. Only four to choose from. We also had the pulled chicken sandwich with two sides. Chicken was not bad, the coleslaw was unique, and the cucumber salad was pretty tasty. Will stop in and try something different eventually. And if it's good I will update the review. The atmosphere was cool, didn't get to the bar side but from what I could see, I will on that side next time. They also have some nice merchandise at the front. Thought about picking something up, but didn't....
Read moreChances are that if you've visited Asheville, you've heard about 12 Bones BBQ. Hopefully, you've tried it, too because it's absolutely delicious. Recently, 12 Bones decided to get into the craft beer scene and they've literally hit a home run. We visited a few weeks ago and tried a few different half pours of their cleverly named beers. My favorite was the Love & Haight Pale Ale but I also really liked the I Can Sleep When I'm Dead Coffee Stout and the You Wanted a Hit American IPA. You can get a flight, a pint or even a half pour here. Bonus points too for being able to bring food over into the brewery from the restaurant. There's a special almost every night, check their Instagram account for the most up to date info on those. As for the space, it's super clean and fun to be in. They've got a bunch of different seating options and even a few really comfortable chairs near a bookshelf that can make for a sweet afternoon or evening poring over some of their coffee table style books. If you love beer, definitely put this brewery...
Read moreI visited this place twice during my visit to North Carolina. The first time for brews and the second time for BBQ.
Food/drink: Let me start by saying the barbeque is worth every penny. The barbeque pulled pork sandwich was tender and flavorful. I tried both the tomato BBQ and blueberry BBQ which were both on point with the tomato being sweet and packed with flavor and blueberry is tasty with a little kick. There were quite a few beers to choose from and I didn't dislike a single one I had. My personal favorites were the Blueberry Hefeweizen and one that I believe was called Pinky Promise.
Parking: Plenty of parking on either side of the building.
Service: Everyone working both kitchen side and brewery side were awesome and very welcoming.
Overall I loved this place and would come back just for the BBQ but the brews are certainly the...
