Ive been here twice, and generally speaking they are great - however, today i noticed a glaring issue causing people to walk away and that caused myself great physical discomfort - the wait time. Its labor day, so I understand you cant do anything about the fact you WILL be busy - especially with food THIS good in the beloved RAD of asheville. HOWEVER - what can be addressed is the way the wait is communicated. I had to wait in line for 20 minutes before I could even be told it would be another 20 minutes for my food, which wouldnt have been nearly as frustrating if the wait AFTER ORDERING wasnt twice as long as what I was told(for an hour wait total). This was an extra big deal for me personally as I have unique digestive health challenges, and if I get too hungry or wait too long to eat I can become very ill for the rest of my day (nausea, going from hot to cold to hot again, cold sweats)
My suggestion to solve this is twofold: the first is a simple bit of advice I received when running an oil change shop "Under promise and over deliver, always." Meaning if I thought the wait time was 30 minutes, ill tell them 40 in case something comes up - then when it comes out to be a 30 minute wait, the customer is HAPPY to have waited that long.
The second part of my suggestion is to simply have a sign you can put in the door with the total wait time estimate so people arent waiting to find out what the wait is.
I hope you guys continue to find the success you deserve, and hopefully next time i come in ill be able to edit this review...
Read moreI was scrolling on Reddit and read a post that someone was looking for Japanese souffle pancakes in the area. Sadly, there doesn't appear to be any establishment in the area that serves them, but I did read a comment where someone recommeded the souffle eggs from ButterPunk. Although I knew the only similarity was the word souffle, I still decided to check them out.
Located in the River Arts District, parking could be a little challenging, along with seating as it only has a small dining area. I did like the eclectic look of it though. I just ordered mine to go, though there were a few window seats available.
Counter service only here. Order, pay, pick up your food and buss your own table. Very small menu, but I feel that works so they can perfect what they offer. The biscuit sandwich with candied bacon was absolutely delicious. The biscuit was crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. Layered with the souffled egg, candied bacon and cheese, I was struggling to open my mouth wide enough to capture it all. It paired well with the Hong Kong milk tea. I'm not sure if everyone else would be satisfied paying $12 for a biscuit sandwich, but the souffled egg experience...
Read moreI’m a chef and have suggestions. The herb aioli was too herby and I tasted of fennel and sage for 20 minutes because it was in my teeth and the mushroom sausage gravy was mushroom soup. Dried herbs and less would be better and add a dash of whole grain mustard and course pepper for texture and vinegar to knock the creamy mayo down. Cream and cut mushrooms over torn biscuits. My take would be cream white breakfast style gravy with mushrooms cut up in it. The sausage patty available À la cart for two dollars was obviously an after thought same with the bacon. The egg soufflé was slightly soft from my point of view and the biscuit wasn’t quite large or robust enough to handle the job with all the wet egg and that herb drenched mayonnaise in it. The vanilla latte was absolutely perfect nicely decorated. Everyone there could not have been nicer I just have a different...
