Grind AVL — Restaurant in Asheville

My wife and I had high hopes for this place, and I really wanted to leave a positive review. But alas, I will not mislead anyone with my comments. When we walked in? There was a positive vibe, and the lady behind the counter was friendly and helpful. I ordered a medium drip coffee & blueberry scone, and my wife ordered a praline latte & cranberry scone. I realized immediately that my wife was dissatisfied with her drink by the look on her face (she will never complain to me in public) after her first sip. Well, my coffee was very weak...watery and lukewarm, and the scones were tasteless. The food and coffee were a bust. Despite that, my wife and I just tried to chill and converse. That was ruined when a tall lanky man came in and ruined the whole vibe. He was louder than he needed to be, and was excessively bossy. If he was a part owner? He was nowhere pictured on the website with the two we saw...and totally completed the ruination of our experience at this spot.

Grind coffee is a wonderful place to go in the river arts district. The setting is welcoming and it is quite easy to find with Google maps. There is plenty of street parking as well as a decent sized lot across the street. You will notice the building with it's bright red colors and huge garage door. Inside there are plenty of seats and tables to sit at. They have 1 restroom to use, 2 tv's to watch, and decent internet as well. The coffee is good, I had a medium roast drip, and they offer many options for hot drinks and a small pastries selection. They are currently open during covid as long as you wear a mask while inside.

I just ordered through Door Dash. I've been using Door Dash since they first came here lol. I've gotten bad orders or incorrect items often. The Grind actually called me to let me know they were out of crossiants instead of not taking my order. Instead of giving me something random. I've never had their coffee. I'm sure it's amazing but I'm super impressed by their customer service and super kind gesture. I know it's not a huge deal but no one ever does that. Thanks so much. We are BFFs for...
