I went to this place after visiting a local Bookstore and as soon as I entered the establishment I was greeted with the terrific aroma of fresh brewed coffee and kindness. The staff all greeted me with a smile and a warm hello and gave me ample time to look over their extensive and enticing Menu of everything an all around Foodie would love as well as everything any dietary sensitive person would appreciate. After being expertly guided to my choice of dish and completing my order I ventured into the condiment area and was immediately drawn to the ever changing and always entertaining quotes and jokes Board shuffling tiles around to fit the next hilarious little informational tidbit. No sooner was my food and drink ready and I was on my way home to enjoy one of the best Breakfast Bagel Sandwich I’ve ever Had but also what was hands down the best Coffee Drink I’ve ever had. I would recommend this place to friends all across this land so that they too may have a chance to enjoy this wonderful little hidden gem of Asheville’s River Arts District. So I’d like to say Thank You Ultra Coffeebar, Thank you so very much!! -Sam Jones
PS: I left the books I had just bought at the coffee bar by accident and not only did the staff grab them and keep them for me. They used my rewards member information I had just filled out to respectfully and professionally contact me and insure the safe return of my property which also contained the cash change I had In the bag from the purchase of the books. Good hard working honest people are hard to find these days but Ultra Coffeebar has them in spades and I can’t wait to...
Read moreJust visited this place and found this place quite problematic. For starters, my coffee was extremely watery but I let that slide. My partner ordered an iced oat latte. It tasted like oil and honestly like drinking plain soy milk. She tried to rectify the issue by spending more money on an added shot and flavoring. The drink was even worse. I went up and kindly asked for a refund. The cashier who I assume is the manager offered to start the drink over. I sensed he was off when we entered but offered to explore that with my partner. Since they’d be using the same ingredients we decided to opt for the refund. Instead of discreetly issuing a refund, the cashier loudly yells that he has gone ahead and issued a refund for the coffee and additions as to shame my partner in front of customers. The drink was honestly disgusting. Secondly, the Mexican “Coke” with espresso and sugar is problematic as it is named the Rick James. Not only is that gross stereotyping and racial profiling, observing that compounded an already awkward situation. Instead of hostility, simply take the feedback and move forward. Since I don't have a refund receipt I’ll be looking to confirm my refund in the...
Read moreThis is one of two coffee shops that I’m aware of that is still open during these changing times 🙏🏾. They are in a great location in RAD, really easy to find with street and lot parking. They’ve employed the best breakfast sammie maker in town, the guy with the salt and pepper hair and warm smile. I always do a build your own sandwich and I love how he gently mashed my avocado so it’s more of a spread (slices fall out when I take a bite). Their bagels are DELICIOUS 😋 I’ve been tempted just to order a dozen to-go but always restrain myself from that impulse lol. They have delicious muffins, my favorite is the lemon poppy and carrot, but am also pleased with the zucchini one too. The lattes are served ready to drink, no need to wait for it to cool down which I appreciate since I’m usually half awake when I arrive. It’s pretty much touch less ordering, the barista signs your name for you on the screen and you insert and remove your own card. They even have a safety glass “window” between you and the staff who all wear gloves.
A nice bonus is they have a rewards system for frequent customers! Really happy to have them sustaining their presence and remaining open for...
