I am local of Asheville, moved back to find land a build a house but in the mean time I’m staying with my parent's. Decided to go stay in a hotel one night this weekend with my fiancé and our daughter just to have some time without my parents. My daughter loves hotels, we have weekend stays all the time just to get out of the cramped house. Unfortunately we chose this hotel this weekend and had the worst customer service I’ve ever had in my life. The woman up front (Bridget) asked for my finances I.D. Like every single time we check in, he’s a platinum member also uses choice hotels for his business. She sees he’s local and immediately tells us they don’t accept locals. This has never happened, we have stayed local I can’t count how many times with choice. so my finance asked her why. He told her we wasn’t gonna party or anything crazy we have our daughter with us who is 4 and it was almost 9pm we just had dinner it was her bedtime. I guess him speaking upset her because she cut him off loudly and told him she WAS gonna tell us she couldn’t do it unless we did a $150 deposit BUT since she couldn’t finish telling us that she thought it was best to cancel our prepaid room and find somewhere else to stay. I go out of my way to be polite to service workers and I have never experienced this kind of treatment. It was BIZARRE because there wasn’t anything rude said to this woman. The policy has NOTHING to do with this issue. Paying that deposit is totally fine. If we had to leave and find another hotel just because the policy that would’ve been fine, not ideal but fine I’m not gonna argue a policy. The woman had zero reason to do what she did and she smiled after she canceled it also had this look like she had all the power in the world. She knew she had the power to do what she did but she selfishly did so mean spirited. Had zero care we had a child ready for bed she was happy when we left upset. She got triggered by speaking before we was suppose to and canceled our stay selfishly. She didn’t care about the policy, the deposit, hearing our situation. I cried leaving not because we had to find another hotel but because I still can’t understand how she thinks how she handled the situation was okay.
Not to mention a guest that was out side who happens to who also works at a hotel was shocked by what happened and the way it was handled. Then the next hotel we went to we explained the situation, making sure it was okay for us to stay to the employees and they were also shocked. The woman told me that is a policy they could not accept locals BUT for a reason. I could see empathy in the eyes of the employees at the hotel we are staying at now hearing our story of what happened. Bridget wore an evil grin. For no reason. Save that energy for a customer who’s actually...
Read morelocation was great in West Asheville. the road it’s on gives you close access to the highway, as well as a ton of food places nearby. traffic around this part is manageable, not bad at all. the area seems safe with lots of easy parking, and i love that the access to rooms is actually inside the building. this is a huge thing i look for with hotels so rest assured, you’ll feel safe! also, the website lists a deposit of at least $50 will be taken for incidentals, but i wasn’t charged $50 — they just authorized it and put it on file! i love places that do that, as i don’t have to worry about a missing $50 - $200 during my trip! i can’t say this will always be the case so just budget accordingly of course.
the room was clean and nice, with nothing of concern. bed was comfortable and cozy for such a cheap price! bathrooms were clean with plenty of towels, and toiletries. we visited in cold months and it didn’t feel cold inside, especially since the entrance to the rooms is inside the building itself.
the only negatives (“karen highpoints” because none take away from the great value) are that there was a funky burning smell coming from the AC unit when i turned the temperature up a bit for some heat at night. we thought something was on fire, the smell became so potent! (this was room 305!) i’ve had units at other places spark with the heat on so i got nervous and turned it off. you’d think with asheville reaching temperatures in the 40s and below, the units could withstand heat being on. could’ve been a faulty unit, could’ve needed a filter change, or maybe it was burning off the dust after not having the heat on for a while. but it was still worth noting as it concerned me and i couldn’t comfortably use it. only other thing is housekeeping came knocking 30 minutes before checkout when we were groggy trying to make sure we had everything together lol so i was a bit annoyed. i would’ve expected them to come to check maybe some time after 11am. but not a biggie 😜
overall, i’d say my stay was worth it! i was in a good, safe area with lots of easy access around me. rooms clean, front desk workers were sweet, and i had a roof over my head. this was totally worth the price if you’re staying in...
Read moreOkay I do a lot of traveling and usually I'm in my camper van. But after my head on collision I don't have a camper van anymore and I needed to get a hotel for the night for my dogs surgery the next day
The comfort inn was pretty easy to find despite the traffic Parking lot is a little bit small but I had a nice place to park it was well lit The check-in went very smoothly and the wonderful Jamaican woman was very kind But I tell you the bonus when I walked into the room I swear this is the cleanest cleanest hotel I've ever ever seen I used to clean cabins in my sister has a cleaning company so I know what clean is I even saw little things like how they prompted up the kleenex box and it looked like a little flower of Kleenex coming out. To the toilet paper appropriately folded in a nice point
Even things like the towels were folded very nicely in the bathroom and the shower curtain was displayed in a very nice manner draped over the tub
the beds were very nice with all the pillows and clean sheets. Oh and not only that this was probably the best that I've ever slept in comfort wise. Not too soft not too hard every pillow I'm telling you was just soft and perfect
There were no Offensive orders there was no hair there was no dirt there is nothing that I've experienced in many of the other hotels I have stayed in.
Whoever cleans these rooms they all need raises because it's really hard to find good cleaning people So if the manager reads this you need to give your cleaning staff A raise or at least some type of bonus because I'm telling you they present the rooms In such a way that The manager and owner should be very proud And also another bonus was the hotel was super quiet But I come back to pick up my dog if I have to stay over I'll...
