-AMAZING- Walking into this coffee shop is like stepping into a parallel universe where every barista has a PhD in astrology, and the espresso machine is probably powered by moonlight and good vibes. The place smells like coffee beans and enlightenmentâlike a yoga studio decided to go into the caffeine business.
The barista, who introduced themselves as âSunflower,â recommended a lavender oat milk macchiato and gave me a 15-minute lecture on the ethics of free trade coffee beans. I still donât know what a macchiato is, but I felt spiritually cleansed after hearing about the beans' life story.
The coffee was goodâso good, in fact, that Iâm convinced they laced it with organic charisma. It was like drinking liquid motivation while listening to a Grateful Dead album on vinyl.
The seating options are incredible: vintage couches that might have hosted a drum circle, mismatched chairs with a side of character, and one seat that may or may not be a repurposed unicycle.
The bathroom? A shrine to the 1960s, complete with tie-dye wallpaper and motivational quotes written in chalk. I came out with a newfound respect for kombucha and a sudden urge to learn how to juggle.

My favorite is the cafe con leche. This is the only coffee that doesn't upset my stomach. The Empanadas, Cuban sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches are delicious. All the food I have tried has been good and fresh. The atmosphere is laid back and inviting. Also there is a schedule on what fun activities happen on what day. I love how community orientated this cafe is, its the perfect place to sing and be creative, to bring people together and embrace your cultural background. I also love her...
Read moreThe prices? Dirt cheap. The coffee? Fantastic. The hours? A godsend, especially if you're a night owl who is no stranger to a cup of joe at 9. At the moment the place is a little hard to spot, but it's right across from Haywood Commons and is a great place to grab some authentic cuban coffee. The owner treats you like a human without being overbearing and has coffee anecdotes for days if you're interested - I wish this place nothing but the best in the future and will be...
