I've been pretty bummed out after the last few visits. When I think of a snow cone, it's not so light on syrup that it doesn't even make it halfway down the cup. The last three visits I made mention of that and asked if they could at least put enough syrup to where it reaches the bottom of the cup. I always get them to go so you would think by the time I get them home the syrup would have actually reached the bottom but it never does. Even after mentioning this, they still never put very much syrup. Today I was told that it's normal for the syrup to not reach the bottom of the cup and was told that I could pay extra if I wanted it to go throughout the whole cup. I'm not sure why I have to pay extra to get a snowcone instead of a half of cup of ice with a half a snow cone. I would be happy to pay extra if I were actually getting something extra versus paying extra to get what should be there all along. My family and I used to really enjoy pelicans, but it seems to have went downhill this year ☹️. As I was leaving, I heard the people sitting at the picnic tables talking about the very same issue that I'm mentioning now.
I've decided to edit my review in response to the comment from the business. Your response seems to imply that I understood what I was told. There was misunderstanding on my part. I asked a very clear question and was given a clear answer. The answer was that what has been happening prior is normal and I was charged for more syrup. If she told me that it was abnormal then why do you figure she charged me for extra to get it to "normal level". I didn't ask for a refund. I made this review so that others would be aware. Additionally, this has happened at several locations and not just Black Mountain. Thats why I didn't particularly pay attention to which location I was reviewing. For future responses to customer complaints, I'd urge you to just apologize and not make the customer feel like they "misunderstood". Your comment only made...
Read moreDrove 45 minutes because the listed hours said they are open. They're not. They apparently don't open for another week. The employee who answered the phone said they "keep changing" the hours online and supposedly someone changes it back. Convincing huh? I know it's really difficult but it is their responsibility to maintain. I wasted time and gas for no reason. This is one of the many reasons there are fewer and fewer pelican ice locations around, apparently they only hire people that can't handle basic management tasks. Normally wouldn't care because it's just ice but my child had their tonsils out and it's the only thing they wanted. I probably won't waste my time or money at this business again. In this economy if they don't care about the little details they won't be around for much longer.
ETA: In the few minutes it took me to write this review someone has taken the two minutes required to update their hours. Why anyone would suggest a change on a closed business is just silly. I don't think that was true, they just didn't do their job to begin with.
ETA: Well, it's been a week and not one person came on here and changed the temp closed hours. It's a miracle! Nope,# not really, I was just lied to by the owner. They didn't have the proper hours listed and failed to update them. Lying over small things is pretty childish. It's the main reason I even left a...
