UPDATED: They have come a long way since we first tried this place. They are now our favorite place to go to for hamburgers in town. They also have some of the best prices for a family to dine in town. It's great that they have stepped up their game and also have great service!
Original review:We have heard mixed reviews about this place and finally decided to try it out ourselves. It was good, the waitress was friendly. The kitchen does seem to run slower than one would like especially during a lunch break. We didn't have a chance to try the beer this time. Sandwiches were fine. I would prefer an old fashioned hamburger with a better prepared and cooked patty vs. a dressed up hamburger with kale on it with a thin overcooked patty. The fresh cut fries were very well cooked. It is a nice atmosphere. I would have to agree that more thought is put into the beer than the food. I think that if you go in with the expectation that this is a bar and will serve you bar food, you will be satisfied. But currently there are better and faster places to go for a sandwich. I do want to point out that they also have a small kids menu which is nice. We will definitely try it again as it gets more established and then update our review. I think that all of us local people are rooting for them and want them to get better and succeed!
Update: We went back. My husband this time tried out the beer. Which liked. He will have to review that part. We had the two hamburgers on the menu. The UBC came without the bacon and the egg was pretty overcooked. Fries were still very good. The pork slider looked great. I would say that this place is not quite ready to be called a restaurant. It's a bar, with bar food. I would totally come here for a flight and a plate of fries. But that...
Read moreThe Uniontown Brewing Company is a great example of what a local brewery should be. It is located in a building that was near and dear to all long term Ashland residents, the Gilbert furniture store. The owners, long term residents of Ashland themselves, did a great job of keeping that history alive in their renovations and choices of decor. The Brewery dining area and bar seating with spacious high ceilings featuring the old tin, and exposed brick walls give a welcoming feeling to people of all ages. This is not a bar! It is a tastefully done brewery that I hope will become a long term part of this small towns history. I look forward to vsiting again if my travels bring me this way. I had a flight of beer , 5 styles, 5 Oz each. All were of good quality and matched their descriptions. I enjoyed the Kolch, on the hot July day that I visited. The menu is wide enough to have something for everyone and the portions were generous. I had some perogies - enough to share, cooked perfectly. I sat at the bar near the kitchen. I spoke with the bar staff whom all seemed to enjoy working for the owners. They were friendly, engaging and attentive. When I first arrived the crowd was light but as the evening went on a good Monday night crowd rolled in. The noise level was good. I was able to easily talk with the members of my party. Before I left I happened to run in to the owner of the Brewery, Mr. Renolds. It was refreshing to see the owner present as this is what makes a Brewery a family place. Go for the food, go for the beer, go because it has great atmosphere. I believe you will not be...
Read moreWe met family here because it was halfway between us. We are always up for trying a new brewery. I can't speak highly enough for every staff person we can into contact with. Dominique was our server and went above and beyond our whole visit. She is fantastic at her job and very observant.
The food is fantastic. It isn't a place where the food is just ok but you put up with it just to drink the beer. I would come eat here even if I had zero intentions of drinking. Wonderful seasonal menu! My cucumber and onion salad was so simple yet exactly perfect. We will definitely make the 1.5 hour drive again for dinner!
Most breweries that try to do too many different styles of beers just don't have many beers worth drinking. We tried 10 different beers while we were there. Even the styles of beers that I wouldn't normally drink, I found myself not being able to get enough of. We love trying out breweries and this on me is pretty high on the list.
The atmosphere is comfy and welcoming. We love the look of the decorations.
Bathrooms were very clean and functional. Don't forget to buy some apparel before you leave. They have...
