Dublin Down Irish Pub and Eatery — Restaurant in Ashtabula

I absolutely love this place the wings are always so fresh and crispy just know their hot is more of a mild and their medium is more of a buffalo type sauce. Price is just okay it’s a tad expensive 8$ for 4 tiny potato skins they are delicious they really are but they are about the size of a Reese’s cup lmao. My 2 main issues with this place are easily resolved. Number 1. The soda gun that gives you pop needs readjusted the soda you get from there is giving too much syrup and not enough carbonation, don’t believe me ? Order a sprite and report back lol. Issue number 2. They fries are amazing and I really do like them but they really only give you around 11-15 fries which makes me think they are pre weighed or portioned out for each meal/order. Waitress was sweet and kind and running her butt off. She was the only one there other than the cook. The appetizers were good. We had pub chips and artichoke dip and pub pretzels. The main courses were disgusting. The rueben was terrible. I think the meat was spoiled or something. The chicken wings were awful. Smelled like wet dog food, so didnt eat them. The pizza was ok and the cheese quesadilla was ok. The bill was over $100 which is INSANE. We were so excited to try this place based on reviews. We had to go inside due to a storm coming and there were a million flies everywhere it was 90 degrees inside and very dirty, i cant imagine what the kitchen looks like. Needed a place to stop for a late lunch during a trip to Ashtabula Harbor, and this restaurant worked out well. Inside had a very dark and cozy pub pub vibe, but we decided to sit outside due to the nice weather.

The bartender also waited on us and was very pleasant and attentive even given her multiple duties. I got the Dagwood Club and it was very good, with every component of the sandwich and the fries obviously being done fresh. My wife and daughter split a pizza, also fresh out of the oven, and enjoyed it. Would be fun to see this place on a busy night, since it looked like it had multiple bars as well as an outdoor bar, but was happy with it in our situation....
