We live 2 minutes down the road. Wish I could recommend this place but last three experiences not so great. Tonight was the worst. We arrived and were seated promptly at 6:25. The staff was very friendly. I made a constructive suggestion to the server Courtney that on the wine menu they should describe the wine more. There were a couple of local wines I would like to have tried but their menu wasn't very helpful on description. Plus their were no prices given and I was leary to order a bottle that may have been $60, and only to discover it was a sweat wine. Which is not my favorite. She also had no clue on the wines to advise me. She agreed and said she has gotten same complaints from other customers. So we ordered 2 beers. Meanwhile other tables around us were being seated. After about 15 minutes we received the beers. Someone came and took our menus. Other tables around us were being seated. She took their orders then ours. The other tables got their appetizers and salads. We still were waiting. At 7:15 I asked her to box it all up. We had somewhere else we had to be and were running out of time. She sent, whom I think was the manager to our table. She was very defensive and not very friendly. At 7:45 we got our order to go and the bill. It was $42 and change. We gave $60. Giving her the rest in tip. When leaving I told her we were not unhappy. She was very rude. She said Bye twice to me cutting me off. Like I was complaining. Food there is good and majority of the staff. Wait time is slow but that is everywhere. What isn't exceptable is the shortness and being talked to in a rude manner like we did something wrong. And we still gave her a decent tip. Wont be back and won't recommend. Too many other options then to go to a restaurant and be treated with disrespect. Three years ago I gave them a five star rating. Unfortunately today they get one star. Need more training on menu...
Read moreLet me start off saying I really wanted to like this place. I live about an hour away but my daughter and her boyfriend live 10 minutes away from this restaurant. Last week we went there to have an early dinner and hope to spend some time with them at their home. That was not the case. Just like many of the reviews here state, the food takes forever! They always have some sort of excuse. This is the second time this happened to us with food taking over an hour to get. No real apology, no real reason as to why so many people have the same problem. This will eventually catch up to them if they don't come up with a better system of getting food out. These guys are not cheap either, expect to pay about $20 to $25 per person so a party of 4 will pay about $100 not including tip. When asked why food is taking so long, they get defensive and start rattling off excuses. Don't expect an adjustment on the check either. We got there around 4:20 and had our food order put in by 4:45 and the food arrived closer to 6pm if not after. We didn't get out of there until 6:45 ish. So roughly a 2.5 hour experience. The food was decent but not worth 2.5 hours and a $100 expense to just get aggravated. I have no problem dropping a $100 for a dinner but I am sure that is a lot of money for many and there are wiser choices with less aggravation. Like I said, I really wanted to like this place and I wanted to support this local business but I will no longer spend my money here. If I was the only one complaining about how long the food took, then I am the problem, but too many have the same complaint, therefore this restaurant has a problem and they need to fix it and stop...
Read moreOur server was great. Friendly. Prompt. Unfortunately, Purola’s isn’t what it was when they were on Bridge St. I don’t know what they’ve changed but their quality of food has diminished. I have always ordered the Italian calzone and last night the cheese was barely warm. There was a lot of dough compared to the ingredients inside the calzone as well. Our family has visited three times since they moved to their current location and each time it’s such a disappointment. They were also out of several dishes. The server let us know right away and said it was because there were a couple of wedding parties they had served that day. I would assume the owners knew about the weddings in advance and would plan their inventory accordingly. The atmosphere has also changed. For a pizza place, they seemed a bit upscale when they were on Bridge St. That is no longer the case. And the staff not only had no issue with a family allowing their child to run, literally all over the restaurant, they(the staff) even joined in on keeping the child going. I have children myself so I understand how hard it is to keep them settled in public, but no one wants to pay good money to eat and try and have a conversation while a child runs around a restaurant squealing and the staff plays games. Pretty sure this was...
