Squire Shoppe Bakery — Restaurant in Ashtabula

Tried apple fritters from just about every state in the United States. Squire Bakery has in my opinion the best apple fritters I have had anywhere in my 33 years of traveling the country. I tell everyone that loves good baked goods or a good apple fritter if you haven't been there you're missing out. The best thing about them is they are local and I don't have to travel far to go get some of the best baked goods on the planet. Thank you guys for getting up early all these years rolling out the dough the old fashioned way in the wee hours of the morning and making something that's truly special for the rest of us at a great price. We are absolutely blessed to have such a gem in our community. I have been coming here since I could hardly put one foot in front of the other. (3 yrs old maybe?) It is something special for sure. The cookies are unbelievable with the light frosting and the soft inside. I’m not sure what the after taste is, I’ve been wondering for years. Cinnamon or maybe even nutmeg? The donuts are always fresh and the service is always personal. This donut shop is a community institution, it has been here for as long as I can remember. Other donut shops have come and gone over the years but this one just stays and stays. They have the almost perfect donuts not too sweet, not too big they are the just right donut.
