I have yet to try this place but I very upset to hear that tony died. Very upset. One thing tony had at this building was a little free library. These are great ways to get books into the community for those who don't go to a library. However they can be used for much more than books. Some of the churchs in town have them for food or just things people may need. If more of the little free libraries were built and instead on donating so much to goodwill who raised their prices because they are the only place to shop here, people put their extra stuff including soap, razors, shampoo, socks pants etc etc the people who are struggling out here, the homeless population. Who are only here because of a greedy money grubbing medical system that brings in people for rehabilitation services and then after a few weeks just tosses them out on the streets without even the offer of sending them back to their home, like parma, Columbus, Cincinnati, Texas. These people don't want to live in your backyards or on your porches. They want to go home. But if they can't everyone needs to be less wasteful and donate stuff instead of filling up trash cans and landfills. I can guarantee this will reduce shoplifting and theft in the area. Who steals from family dollar? Someone probably pretty desperate for maybe Tylenol or peroxide or soap. I don't know I just keep going without and then luckily someone gives me a bottle of makeup so I don't lose my mental marbles. Look up the little free library website. Sierra Vista Arizona has the most and most creative little libraries I have ever seen. I've seen a lot. State to state. I always look for them. In fact I judge the area by the number of little free libraries it has. Reading is the most important thing in life to learn and I spent most of my friendless childhood in a town I wasn't ever welcomed in expect for the public library. Jan would allow me free run of the entire building and I would to to the basement and look through piles of ancient national geographic magazines and huge giant copies of vogue. I used to put books away and catalog their files and in return I could take home withdrawn books by the hundreds. I loved the Barton public library. Because of its librarian Jan. The harbor topky has the same thing, Janice. I'm positive if anyone needed help with getting information to build these she is the person to go to. I also have suggested to Mr Fred Smith that as a FedEx cares project FedEx express matches the community library for library and can help with other needs. I'd start sending Fred Smith messages asking how can you help...
Read moreI have heard rumblings about this place for a year or two but the few times we tried to stop they were closed for various reasons. We finally managed to get in and grab some lunch. First off, the good: The staff was so kind and welcoming. Since we hadn’t been in before we had some questions about the menu and they were very sweet and helpful. The chicken sandwiches were huge. Probably enough for 2 people to split if they’re moderate eaters. They had a standard version that could be ordered either original or spicy, as well as some curated options with various combinations of toppings. They also offer a build-your-own option. My husband, adult son, and myself ordered their classic sandwiches with the spicy breading option, and a large order of fries to share. The sandwiches had a lot of flavor, but I would not call it spicy. I personally didn’t care for the combination of seasonings in their breading combined with the signature sauce. Neither did my husband. I just didn’t feel that the flavors complimented each other. Our son enjoyed his. A large portion of my chicken filet was sinewy and inedible which was also disappointing. I may have ended up eating 1/3 of my sandwich, which was disappointing considering the price. My husband and son both had better pieces of chicken but neither finished theirs either. The large order of French fries - which I was shocked to see was priced at $10 for what turned out to be a not-all-that-generous portion of fairly standard fries. We spent $46 (including tip) for 3 of their classic sandwiches (the least expensive sandwiches on the menu) and an order of fries, for a takeout lunch for 3 people. I personally did not feel that the pricing aligned with the value of the food received, however they were fairly busy so evidently there are many who disagree with that sentiment. I really wanted to like it. I love to patronize small businesses. I just wasn’t impressed and doubt we...
Read moreI thought with such a catchy name that this place would have better food. So let me start off by saying when I first walked in the atmosphere was great and the way the staff greeted was fanominal. The cashier/waitress was so polite and welcoming. Now to the food I ordered the mac n sheesh nugget basket. My first thought was a chicken place the mac and cheese is going to be amazing....definitely not! When I received my food the mac n cheese looked like mac n cheese out of a box pretty plain Jane not the thick and cheesy mac n cheese i thought it would be. Just soupy noodles covered in cheap cheese. Now the fries were good, they were crispy but needed salt. the chicken was definitely homemade and delicious. I just really really wish you got a thick cheesy mac n cheese and not some soupy mac n cheese thrown on it. Especially if there gonna charge 12 dollars for it. The portion sizes are huge though. I'm not sure that I'll be back just because of the disappointment on the food but was worth a try. We all like things differently so I always say try some where at least once. Me not my favorite...
