We really wanted to like these guys, and I do, unfortunately we felt the food quality didn't justify the price. Three of us ordered an appetizer that included 6 small balls of fried red beans and rice. Those were amazing! However for the price, there should be double the balls, or twice the size. For the meal, we ordered burgers which were over $11, then paid another $7 to complete the meal with fries/onion rings (they forgot the onions rings so I don't know their quality). It seemed quite pricey, but I thought the price would be justified by quality. We also ordered a couple of shakes. We were very disappointed to find that the quality just wasn't there. It reminded me of an oversized fast food burger except triple the wait and price. The bun was large, and the patty was sized for the bun, however it was very thin. When we took a bite, we actually failed to taste burger. It was drowned out by bread, sauce, and basically everything other than meat. For the 3 of us, the bill was over $80. For that amount of money in a burger place, I would have expected to leave completely satisfied. Instead my husband and I left the uneaten portions of our food knowing we wouldn't eat it later, my daughter took hers for her dogs. On the positive, the appetizer balls, although overpriced, were amazing. The place was clean, spacious, and you could spend an hour laughing at all the wall signs. ALL OF THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY. I REALLY, wanted to like this place. Our family wants to support small business. We are also willing to pay more on occasion if the quality is there. However I can't justify the price when I can go to Chili's and get a 3 for me for less than $11 and be completely satisfied, with half a burger to take home to eat the next day. I wanted to send an email versus Google review, however that wasn't an option on the website. My hope is that you guys will view this as constructive criticism and strive to do better and above...
Read moreAlmost a 5-Star Burger Joint… Almost.
Heard the buzz about a new burger spot with a 50s vibe—had to check it out. From the moment I walked in, the joint was hoppin’. Two up front taking orders, and one of them—this genuinely pleasant gentleman—felt like he had to be the owner. I think his name was James? (If I’m wrong, forgive me, but he carried the place with pride.)
I glanced over and—wait, what’s this? Blue Bell Ice Cream?! Not just a scoop or two, but a full-on lineup of flavors. My inner child did a cartwheel. I was already dreaming: burger, fries, and a couple scoops of Blue Bell? This could be our new go-to spot.
The female cashier helped the guest ahead of me, then disappeared into the back without a word. No biggie. James held it down. He knew the menu inside and out. I went with the old-fashioned burger, and then he threw me a curveball—“What kind of bread?” Jalapeño sourdough was one of the choices. What?! Absolutely. Let’s do that.
I was pumped.
James explained how it all worked—listen for your number, raise your hand, they bring your food to your table. Love that system. And I have to say, the staff was hustling. The food runners were fast and on point, no wasted movement. But then…
Out walks a cook. Right up front. Wearing shorts… and fluffy slippers. Like, actual bedroom slippers. He hung around up front chatting for a bit before strolling back to the kitchen. I couldn’t help but wonder: Was he just handling food like that?
The vibe started to shift.
Got home with my food and that burger? Delicious. Juicy, flavorful, that jalapeño sourdough was a total win. Fries? Eh. No seasoning, kinda bland. Could’ve used a little love.
This place had all the right ingredients: fun theme, welcoming energy, a standout burger, and ice cream dreams. But that kitchen moment? It stuck with me. I want to feel confident about who’s making my food—and fluffy slippers just...
Read moreWent at about 3pm today. (Saturday). Lady at the counter was super friendly and helpful with the menu. Not sure if I got her name or not but she had red hair I believe. They have something for everybody on the menu. I ordered the burger with avocado and an egg on it. Burger was great. Egg cooked nice to perfection. Not over cooked and not too runny which is how I prefer my eggs. Meat to bread ratio is something I’m picky with but it was great here! Not a thick patty but also not a smash burger. Got tots with the meal. Tots were OK. Little soggy but not bad. Also got the Philly cheesesteak fries. Delicious! Would recommend if you like Philly cheesesteak. Easily shareable with 2+ people. I also got the chili cheese dog. It was also OK. Little smothered with chili and cheese but I understand some people like it that way! Sister got Onion Rings with her burger. They were delicious and they are big rings so you can easily share them as well. The restaurant inside is super nice and open and the hot sauce table is cool! Clean as well. Sweet tea is delicious! Blue Bell Ice Cream is always good! They offer milkshakes as well, but only with the flavors of ice cream they have. 8-12 flavors I believe. I was looking for a fresh banana shake witch is why I included that in the review. Had to wait about 10-15 minutes for our food witch is great timing if you ask me for fresh food.
Anybody complaining about the price is full of it. Stop being cheap and getting value meals from other places and then complaining about others costs.
One thing I did notice or missed on the menu was topping options for your food. (Probably missed it looking at the ice cream)
Will definitely return! Go try it...
