9d's Bar Plus — Restaurant in Athens-Clarke County Unified Government

Have had friends not allowed in because their clothing was too "urban", then just recently I got thrown out after being there for 30 minutes. Wouldn't even let me get my card, glasses, or coat. Horrible, I don't know why these guys ruin a good nightlife. Don't even waste your time showing up here. Owner just responded saying "inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated" lol. So being a Mexican male in a predominantly white bar is considered inappropriate to this guy. Seriously, don't bother with these guys Now(3/12/19) my general physician says that I might have broken both my tailbone & my right thumb...when the employee from this bar pushed me down the stairs. So I guess I'll be filing a lawsuit against them...hope you future patrons like giving $ to racist promoters. & (owner, trust me on this) just cause you delete the video doesn't mean that you'll have less business cause of a employee that did this to your bar. I was there on Saturday night. The middle-age male bartender was both verbally and physically abusive. We had a slight misunderstanding and I tried to explain and apologize to him. He did not want to listen to my explanation or accept my apology. Instead he became extremely angry and aggressive. He grabbed me and pushed me against the railing and proceeded to push me down the stairs. I had to pull away away from him in order to walk down the stairs without him making me fall. I have never been treated this way in any bar before. My friends and I will never go back.

I don't think there's another bar in Athens that attracts as wide of a mix of people as 9d's. 9d's is the epitome of a late night bar, and it gets packed out every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Nobody goes for the drinks or because it's chill, they go because they want to dance and sing along to all the favorite songs of yesteryear. One you hear a lot is "they don't play 90s music", and while that's true- a lot of the music is actually early 00s, it's just because they have to update for the increasingly younger crowd that attends.
