this was...interesting. i had been curious about this place so i decided to go. so today i took a break from reading anne frank's diary (she's a pistol) and walked on up to the store front of alumni cookie dough. as i walked up i was blasted in the face by their "bubbletron" machine that was firing on all cylinders. i pushed forward. i walked in and was greeted by a lovely and tall gentlemen. sadly, ophelia by the lumineers was on the aux which left a gross, potato salady taste in my mouth without me even opening it (my mouth). anywho, i walked up to the service counter and was helped by a very helpful gentlemen and was told to order "the trifecta." which i did. i then chose my flavors: chocolate chip, red velvet and peanut butter surprise. the sepia-tone colored flavors (other than red velvet) were piled in a nice pile cone shape in a firm plastic cup. the price was fair and i was out in a jiffy. i was only in this shop for a few minutes. i was not in there for long. i walked back to my post and tried the three flavors i chose. to my disaffection, the chocolate chip flavor was as if i had taken a bite out of a big rubber fish. or eggs, as one of my colleagues described. the cortisone i had rubbed onto my elbow earlier today had just about worn out and i could begin to feel my wound starting to itch. time to go home and re-lather. i wonder how those stuffed teddy bears with a heart in their hand is painful. if my heart was outside of my body i would be in agony. thanks alumni cookie dough, wish we could chill out on the bubbles but i can't get what i want in this silly little life. i think i like this...
Read moreThis place is awesome for so many reasons! The cookie dough is delicious, the store is spotless, the experience is like being served by your family, and they donate to a local charity every month. My husband and I rushed here after a movie and got in fifteen minutes before they closed, and they were delighted to serve us and took their time explaining everything and letting us sample doughs. After ordering a Trifecta of strawberry short cake, birthday bash, and chocolate lover's, we walked out to go on a stroll downtown while eating it, and made an exciting discovery--this is the perfect dessert to walk around with! It doesn't melt like ice cream or frozen yogurt, so you can take your time with it, no drips or crumbs, so you don't have to pay that much attention to how carefully you eat it, and a little goes a long way. It's ingenious!! I should note, though, that they do have vanilla and chocolate ice cream and will do any kind of combination of cookie dough with that. There are also ice cream toppings. I recommend the Trifecta, because the scoops are mini-sized and you can get a variety of flavors. My only regret is that I should have ordered the milk when the employee offered it! 😂 This is the place to go for your hit of sugar! If you found this review helpful, please give it a...
Read moreUPDATE: I went back again and absolutely LOVED it! Wow!!! First of all, the customer service here is AMAZING! Second, the choc. chip dough is soooooo good! So glad I gave it another try. Previous issue must have just been some starter growing pains, because what I tasted this week was nothing like what I had the first time. Totally recommend 100%!!!
I REALLY wanted to give this place 5 stars but that wouldn’t be an honest review. I came today and got the chocolate chip dough and my sister got the trifecta that included the chocolate chip and two others. We were so excited to try it out! The two others she got were great but the chocolate chip we both got was way too bland. It tasted like it was sugar free with hardly any sugar and too much flour. We will try it again and I’ll update my review if we have a better experience next time. Should have asked for a sample before getting it. Otherwise, it’s a really cute establishment and the staff was friendly. Very clean...
