The ambiance and the atmosphere was impressive. I did have a problem with parking, because the meter in their parking deck wouldn’t read either of my two cards, so I had to park at the courthouse and then walk back over. However it was a short walk so it was fine. When you get there it’s easy to find the bar because they have signs with directions. (take elevator to R) ... I had a short wait of about 20 mins to be seated due to social distancing regulations, which I understood and was patient about. It was so nice and I was so intrigued to check it out that the wait didn’t really bother me. It’s a very clean place. Clean bathroom. Staff seemed extremely busy but they were still very nice. They seemed a little overwhelmed so this warranted more of my patience as well. The soda I ordered was a little flat. But that’s an easy fix. The drink was okay. My food took about an hour but there was only one cook and about 30 guests so I waited patiently. When it arrived it was fresh, and it was delicious! Although I ordered something simple it’s still worth noting that it was bussin! They just didn’t give me any napkins which was kind of inconvenient. Or a straw for that matter. The food was affordable. I had a cocktail a beer, a flat soda and a meal which totaled $32 altogether. So that’s a good price for a night out on the rooftop. But overall man, I understand that things are hectic for businesses right now and it can be hard to make adjustments, but man.. I love a rooftop so yeah, despite the kinks...
Read moreThis is like a college bar on top of a Hyatt, not a high-end bar. But with Hyatt prices. Been here twice, once in the late afternoon and once in the early evening. I often enjoy hotel bars, because they usually have great service, and good drinks although they may be pricey. I know that these are unprecedented times, but the bartenders really had no idea what they were doing either time I went. The special was the same four months later, but since I got the special drink the first time, I certainly did not get it again! Yesterday we had some margaritas, $12. One plus was that it was only three dollars more, $15, to get Patrón. Of course the view is great but there’s just frat boys sitting around with buckets of beer and apparently money to burn. The music was all over the place, entirely uncurated. They had signs all over the place saying not to order at the bar if you were going to sit at a table, but they obviously had no table service. It really is a fabulous view and I will probably go again, but I would never brave the food given how terrible the...
Read moreWe (4 persons) had a very disappointing experience at Hyatt Rooftop in Athens. We arrived a bit before 9 p.m., ordered at the bar (number 24) and were told it would take around 20 minutes. After 30 minutes we started asking the waiters how much longer it would be — and after more than an hour and a half, the food still hadn’t arrived, while others who came later were already eating.
We spoke with several waitresses and even the manager, but nothing happened. When we finally went to the bar to ask for a refund and leave, a waiter suddenly appeared with our food , insisting to take it, saying it was now “free.” We refused — it was too late.
We understand it was game day and the kitchen might have been overloaded — but it would have been fair to let customers know from the start, not as an excuse at the end.
Unfortunately, a nice view can’t make up for such poor service and lack of...
