I am so sad to have to do this, but someone needs to speak up. The customer service, management, and food quality had gotten unacceptable in the last three months.
I have given Barberitos grace because we are all doing our best, but after being disrespected and treated rudely by the new manager Wednesday, that grace has gone.
On Wednesday I had a bulldawg order that was completely messed up. The order was for my children who have food allergies. The manager made the food order mistakes my fault and said either I call Bulldawg and get a refund and I come to her to the new order, but she wasn't doing anything else. So, Bulldawg it was, because if I was able to come, I would have from the get go. She refused to speak to Bulldawg foods when they called (seriously?!?!?!).
I spoke to the regional manager who was nice, but by that time I was fed up and told him I wouldn't spend my money there any longer ( please note they have catered for me with their old manager multiple times.... hire her back asap).
Fast forward. My sister is from out of town and wanted to go to Barberitos tonight because she doesn't have one. She went to East Side and was met with rudeness by that same manager while ordering. Who would have thought 🤔 ( she had no idea of my experience just days before). The server was nice, but the manager was rude and made the server use the last of the beans before she would give a new set. The black beans were burnt and hard as a 🪨 rock. My sister had to request better beans, but still ended up with burnt beans.
Quality and managerial customer...
Read moreI love this restaurant. Everything is made fresh daily. I'm a vegetarian and I especially like their tofu, which, without exaggerating, is the best I've ever had. The guacamole is also superb, as is their salsa. Even their chips are fried fresh daily. You can eat in, or take out - in either case helping yourself to unlimited (little) cups of salsa. My wife loves their spicy fish - Friday only - although it is sometimes too spicy for her taste. The staff is always super friendly and efficient. However, they are so popular that depending on when you go, and luck, the line can seem to move slowly.
Prices are more than reasonable considering the quantity and quality of the food. I probably shouldn't reveal this, but if taking the food home, or to a friends, I'll skip drinks and zip into Publix, across the parking lot for a gallon of sweetened or unswentened ice tea for $2.99. Barbaritos does not sell alcoholic beverages, which is not problem since I rarely imbibe, but if you have guests, or to bring to someone's house, all varieties of beer and wine are available in Publix.
We eat there about once a week and feel very lucky to have such a terrific restaurant on the East Side. They are obviously well managed and pick their staff...
Read moreTook a quick trip to Barberitos around 2ish, so lunch rush was gone for a quick grab of a meal. I decided to ask the person crafting up the food if I should get a burrito or a burrito bowl. She recommended the bowl as people think bowls get you more food, and she mentioned it would go well with the chips. So it was a pretty nice suggestion from here. All the ingredients looked pretty standard from what I could, rice looked a little dry, but I moved on with the order. Eventually get to the register to pay for the meal, and it just so happens that the scanner to pay with the app and get rewards wasn't working... Tried a good few times, and it was unsuccessful. I figured their scanner would work as I was interested in trying their new app out. The staff member working the register said I could pay another way, but I left my wallet in the car and now I am frantically trying to pay via Apple Wallet. After a bit of figuring out how to do that, I successfully paid and left without getting any rewards for the app. Would have been nice to known to begin with or I would have went elsewhere. Bowl tasted alright, and the chips as always taste flavorless. Was not a good trip this...
