Waffle House — Restaurant in Athens-Clarke County Unified Government

I do not understand this whole 'can't order takeout after 9pm' thing. I literally walked into the store, and the employee asked if I was dining in or taking out... I said taking out. "Oh we don't do that anymore here. You have to order online". SO YOU'RE TELLING ME.... that instead of me just telling the man working, RIGHT HERE, IN YOUR FACE, NEXT TO YOUR LITTLE ORDER SHEET, that I am now being forced to walk back out of the store I just walked into, and use money off of my card, just to COME BACK INTO THE STORE to get my food?? How does make ANY sense? Why not just take my order right here, right now?? And I had intentions to tip each employee $20 for christmas, but forget that beyond this point. This is gonna be the downfall of waffle house. Not a good way to get good tips either, and trust me I've worked at waffle house and people rely on those. And not to mention, a couple right after me walked into the store and dined in... the employee literally took their order. what's the difference of me walking in and telling the man my order and going back outside to wait?? AND the employees had rap music BLARING through the whole store, i could hear every beat and lyric from outside the store, sitting inside my car. All while that couple was trying to eat their food. So...it's a waffle house...they serve your standard greasy spoon diner fare. I've been to many locations throughout the South, Southeastern region. While all have pretty much the same menu, each location differs slightly in taste of food, cleanliness of restaurant and wait time. Yet each varies widely in friendliness and customer service. This Waffle House located in beautiful Athens Georgia is one of the good guys. They are extremely friendly and know you either by face or name by the third time you go in. It's usually pretty clean in there and the hash browns seem to be a bit yummier than other locations I've been. So yeah, I recommend this WH location above others.

My rating and review are written by taking only other Waffle House locations and similar 24 hour and late night diners into consideration. I wouldn't dream of comparing sirloin...

Wonderful and the waitresses are hoping to get more cash tips because the credit card tips go on your check now, so the servers do not get to take home all their tips like they did in the past. If the server adds her tips at the end of her shift, and if she only made 10 dollars in cash and 90 dollars from credit card tips and being used to getting all tips everyday is why we are servers because we need money after every shift not a week later on the check. Waitresses are waitresses because of the tips at the end of every shift, so if the servers kid was needing his prescriptions right away, but mom only got to bring her cash home which was only 10 dollars. I know the point is to tax our credit card tips, and I think it's wrong because servers only make like three dollars an hour. Food and staff is wonderful and we love...
