Chef Ming — Restaurant in Athens-Clarke County Unified Government

I've been coming here quite often for 2 months and got a huge order last night and it was perfect. I'm from Colorado where there are no trees to separate towns, but a great fast food and restaurant industry. Georgia is a phenomenal state but I've noticed everywhere I go here no matter what I have to check my food to make sure nothing is wrong, with Chef Ming's phenomenal restaurant staff I NEVER have to check to make sure my order is right. Yal always get it right, every single time; it's always perfect. The lunch special prices are AMAZING in this economy for all you get; and the best part about yal is the food is delicious. The mushroom chicken, hot n spicy chicken, the crab Rangoon, the super flavorful light colored teriyaki sauce on also teriyaki chicken, glad to be a somewhat regular and genuinely thank you guys for all your hard work and for always being one of the only restaurants in watkinsville/Athens I've been to that has the nicest staff and best...

Ordered lunch for our office, and was....ummmm....underwhelmed to say the least. Mongolian Beef lunch special was literally swimming in oil. I soaked an entire paper towel trying to get the thick layer of oil off the top of the actual "sauce". You could tell the meat wasn't fresh either because it was limp, chewy, and just all-around unimpressive. Sesame Chicken lunch special was quite a bit better. Chicken was crispy, and the sauce had a decent flavor and consistency. Our other employee said her General Tso's Shrimp was good, but nothing special. Spring rolls were mediocre, not great. Could've gone with 2 stars here, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt with 3. If this meal were a day of the week, it would be a Tuesday....because no one cares...

Anyone who has been anywhere knows you don't come to ethnic restaurants to be pampered with excellent service. You come for great food. This is the only Chinese take-out place I've been to in the area that makes good Chinese food with some pride. Egg rolls are smooth and filled with lots of veggies. Hot & Sour Soup is not too oily, flavorful. Mongolian beef was delicious. Side orders are generous. Inside decor is a lot more thoughtful than most other places, so I wouldn't mind dining in. Prices are similar to everywhere else but quality is way better. It's across town from me, but it's still my fave spot...
