Read moreI had been sleeping on the same mattress for many years, and I was not looking forward to mattress shopping. Being disabled, I was dreading having to go into a store and try out a lot of beds, and I was also overwhelmed by the choices I saw online.
I finally walked into Mattress Firm, and Kevin greeted me as I was walking in the door and I told him about my mobility issues. He knew right away that the soft and medium firm mattresses, as well as any mattress with memory foam, would be problematic for me. He immediately steered me in the right direction and I only needed to try two (reasonably priced) mattresses to make my choice. I was also wanted an adjustable frame so that I could raise my head up to read and my legs up to decrease swelling. With Kevin’s expert help, I had my mattress and frame picked out quickly and there was definitely no pressure or feeling that he was trying to make a bigger sale. He made it all about my comfort and happiness and told me that if there were any issues once it was delivered to let him know.
The bed arrived and it was too high. The delivery guys shortened the legs, but it still felt uncomfortably high. After trying to make it work for a few days, I called Kevin and he came out to my house and personally changed the legs to a shorter set that was just right. I was impressed by his kindness and that a business would employ people who care about their customers and their satisfaction, something you don’t often see these days.
I was told that a new mattress could take some getting used to, but I fell in love with my mattress and frame right away. I bought the Simmons Beautyrest World Class Bridgewater 13.5 inch firm mattress and the Serta Motion iSeries adjustable frame and both were on a great sale. Read moreMattress firm website isn’t making it convenient to leave a product review so I’m leaving it here. This location did have good customer service though. The first mattress we bought got two big dips on each side. We provided photos and they swapped it out and made it an easy process. We upgraded to the Kingsdown Imperial which ranged around 6k for us and an adjustable base around 1.2k before interest. Very disappointed that we are stuck with a mattress that is so expensive. After 3 months it also sank in. But this is after the exchange window. So now we are stuck with a ridiculously expensive bed that we thought was higher quality. The dips cause more neck and back pain and it has to be rotated every 1-2 weeks. The weight of it is crazy so you better be strong to get this. I struggle to rotate it by pushing it and I’m not a weak female. Also no one ever told us all the wires hanging down, sloppy and loose under the adjustable bed. Men bring it all in for you and leave. Thank God, I keep the bed unplugged because our Chihuahua went underneath there and chewed all the wires hanging down. She could’ve been killed. On the floor model you can’t see the hanging wires and not in the online pics either. The delivery people didn’t mention it either. I had to press my face to the floor to even see and wires were hanging everywhere. Not flush to the unit or anything. There should be a warning for cat and small pet owners.
So yep, have a base that no longer works ( but thank god my dog isn’t dead) and a super pricy bed that we hate and gives us pain and has big dips in it. I’ll never spend this much on a bed again.
We want beds that conform to your shape but maintains its structure. I don’t know if this is just the new design with all the mattresses. We spent way less ( under 2k) in the past on mattresses and didn’t have these problems even 10-15...
