I had by far the worst experience of my life. I doubt I have ever experience something of this nature. It all started the minute we walked in to the Waffle House establishment located off of epps bridge rd in Athens,GA. We waited at least 20 minutes before anyone came to ask us if we wanted anything to drink. I would have understood if the restaurant was busy, however, overall there were only three tables with two to four people per table. The utime seemed to be going by fast since my family and I were talking and joking around. After waiting for 30 minutes the cook finishing the order(s) he was working on and ask us what we would like to drink. He brought us our drinks and left once again. After a while an elderly lady came to our table and told us that she was behind some tables and that she would be with us any minute. As she said that she acted as if she was going to write down our orders, but as we told her what we wanted she ignored us and left. We kept drinking our drinks and coffee. Ten minutes later she came back and ask if we were ready. The first thing she asked was how did we intent to pay for our meals. I told her that it would be one check. So she said oh that is good. As we asked for our orders she went on about being so far behind and that she was tired and so forth. She went back to what we thought was placing our orders to the cook, but as we later found out she only placed one of the four orders. We waited at least 10 minutes for the first order and 30 minutes for the following order, which was two waffles. As the elderly lady did not write down our order. So we just basically asked for two waffles instead of the other three orders. However, she acted as if she was to busy to do anything. When the entire time she was talking to one guy at a table. We literally saw two couples come in and out as they waited for to long to be waited on. The worst part is yet to come. As we ate and ignored the fact that we were basically being ignored, i noticed a hair on my waffle. By that time I had it with the Poot service. I went up to ask the lady for my receipt. She rudely told me how much it was and when I asked her why she looked at me and nodded. As she told me I noticed that it was the orders they never brought. I told her that we never received the food and that I would only pay for the one order we received and the two waffles, even though they had a hair in it. She was like oh ok I’m sorry, but yes is this much. I just wanted to pay and get out of that place as fast as I could. As I was paying another couple left, very upset. She is truly something else. I understand that sometimes things can happen, but we must always remember the industry we work in. Unfortunaly, I will never step foot on any Waffle House again. I truly regret going and having to take the treat meant I received and not said anything. It is not in my nature to be rude to anyone, specially elderly people. That is why I kindly asked her for my receipt and paid for the half eaten food and left. I am...
Read moreAs far as the atmosphere it was too cold to even try to enjoy our food! But little did we know that the food alone was going to be so far from enjoyable. My nephew & I ordered hot chocolate that was so watered down we had to put coffee creamer in it. Oh and don't even think about ordering whip cream, they won't have it. I ordered an Allstar breakfast but the only star of the dish was the scrambled eggs that I added cheese to. The grits were terrible! They were so lumpy, not even the huge amount of butter added could save them. The hash browns were so crispy they were nearly burnt! My mom ordered wheat toast that tasted like mildew, while my toast was mediocre at best. Alas the ONE thing that all Waffle House cooks should have down to a science. The only thing that if all other dishes are horrible this could be their saving grace. The staple food that's featured in the name of the restaurant. Their Waffles! These waffles were the worst I have ever had at ANY Waffle house EVER! They were burned to a crisp. We asked to have them done properly and the cook honestly had a tough time comprehending why. As if he usually serves patrons these well done, cajun style, "blcakened waffles". Finally after a new batch was done the cook allowed them to sit on their plates for several minutes in what was again the coldest restaurant ever! Before casually advising the server they were ready. I mean if you can't even get the Waffles right & you're the Waffle House then I don't know what! Needless to say we will NEVER be back...
Read moreI ordered a waffle, hashbrowns, and a chocolate milk for takeout on a thursday evening. 3 other parties were seated at booths, all with food. No other people ordered food during my wait. It took the three employees over 27 minutes to make my order. They were loudly using profane words rapping to eachother, sitting on the counter, playing on their phone… I watched for 20 minutes waiting for someone to begin preparing my food. Another customer had to walk up to get a refill on water after not being helped during this time.
After finally being given my food, he did not include my drink. I asked about the chocolate milk (which i paid for) and the young man says “well we don’t even have to-go cups soooo”… insinuating i should leave without the drink. I asked if I could have something to-go, and he offered an orange juice.
I’m in my 20’s, but the three barely teenage employees didn’t seem like they could be left to their own devices to operate this restaurant. It waffle house, i’m not expecting the Ritz. But waiting nearly half an hour for my small order was quite...
