BABY ROCHES AT THE SUSHI BAR AND HAIR IN MY FOOD!!!!! I use to love coming here three years ago with my boyfriend but since then I order food Togo from time to time because I love the soups and sushi. But this time I decided to go with my roommate inside and we were seated at the sushi bar. Immediately I saw two workers peeling cucumbers with dirty fingernails and no gloves also one of them kept touching and adjusting his phone because he was watching something and then going back to peeling. That’s when I saw behind the plexiglass a baby roach crawl to the top of the sushi case. I wanted to believe that it was a gnat but it the customers next to me also noticed the same-thing and we looked at each other through the Covid glass in shock. I gave it a chance because I work at a restaurant too and I know we have to have roach traps sometimes for certain stragglers. I got my food and things seemed ok. As I was eating my roommates boyfriend complained about the bloody Mary he ordered seeming to taste sour I tried it and it seemed as if the mixer had gone bad and had been left out too long. Whatever I keep eating. Then I found a big long hair buried in my pineapple chicken! I asked for it to be taken back and I didn’t want anything else and they were really nice and handled it well (my waitress specifically she had blonde hair and a orange mask). She persisted asking me if I want anything else but I told her it was ok and she was really nice. my friends finished their food and I saw yet ANOTHER baby roach crawl out from behind the sushi case and on top of it. It pains me to say this because I love the food and I love the environment. But this place is nasty and I will not be going back. But I’m glad i had a really nice waitress this time! She was really kind and not the usual from what i have...
Read moreMy husband and I wanted to try something different for our (long-overdue) date night last night. We were craving sushi, and Shokitini was closer than our usual hibachi place in Hamilton Mill. When we got there, the hostess was nice and we only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. After we sat down, we were left completely unattended for 23 minutes - no one even stopped by the table to get our drink order or just to let us know that they would be with us shortly. The restaurant was not busy and there were several waitresses walking throughout the restaurant. There were 4 tables near us that were finishing up their meals and getting ready to leave around the time we sat down so we knew we hadn't come in the middle if a rush. My husband wanted to leave after 20 minutes of waiting but I really wanted to try the food so we waited the extra few minutes. When our waitresses finally came to take our order, we realized she had passed by our table several times (at least 5-10) and not once did she stop for 5 seconds just to let us know she'd be with us soon. I ordered the GA Kamikaze saketini, and my husband and I got 2 sushi rolls, and a hibachi dinner each. My drink was really good and the Lady Dawg roll my husband ordered was amazing, although the rest of the food was highly disappointing. The spicy salmon roll was bland, my husband's steak was way overcooked, and the rest of the food was just not very good. Overall we were just very disappointed with the whole experience. Definitely not worth the $112 bill we received at the end. Save yourself some time and money and just go to Inoko Express. You'll get way better quality food for...
Read moreThis place has almost given me anaphylaxis twice now. I am allergic to avocados. And have made that very clear both times. This is the second time they have done this. I tried talking to the manager and I assume the owner and neither of them comprehended the severity of the issue nor seemed inclined on training their staff on the serious ramifications of things like this. The owner said to me “Well we get busy and people make mistakes” They have done this both times. 2/2 times. That’s more than a mistake. And even if it was it is not a justifiable one. For the price, the service is definitely not to die for. Check all your food thoroughly.
Not to mention one time there was a long black hair rolled INTO my sushi. EDIT SINCE THE RESTAURANT IS NOW LYING IN THE COMMENTS: I did not request two refunds. You refused to help me or be apologetic at all so I called bulldawg after AS YOU INSTRUCTED. Bulldawg assured me that it was incredibly clear on the information they sent you and sent me an email showing that they said I had a “deathly allergy to avocado”. Your reply of straight up lying to save face instead of taking accountability for the very dangerous mistakes of your kitchen is very showing. And also why I attached a very clear picture FROM YOUR RESTAURANT, that clearly states allergic to avocados. Take accountability. The fact the owner put more effort into lying in a comment on a google reply than speaking to me on the phone and reassuring me he would talk to the kitchen really shows your priorities are not with safety and customer experience. I didn’t bring up the hair because that was two years ago and not a...
