I stumbled upon this place while enjoying a day of self-love and self care. I love a diamond in the rough *aka* funky, eclectic decor, somewhat sketchy location, good food, and good service. And White Tiger Gourmet did not disappoint. The music was great and they have t-shirts you can purchase (I think I saw shirts on display 🤔). The inside is small and intimate. The place holds about 7 tables. Each of the tables seat up to 5 people and 1 table seats 2. There are several picnic tables outside and a walk up window for to go orders. The menu is interesting for a place that sells itself as a BBQ establishment. However, as a native Texan, I am slightly biased and certainly spoiled! 😉 I ordered the seared salmon on ciabatta bread. I was pleasantly surprised to find the salmon was well seasoned, moist, and tender. I am a bread lover and the ciabatta was delicious. It was soft, chewy, and crunchy. The sandwich was the perfect size, not too big, not too small. I'm not a huge cucumber lover so I probably should've opted out of the cucumbers. The sandwich wasn't overdressed. The menu mentions cream cheese, but I didn't taste any on the sandwich. The capers and organic field greens were a nice addition. I also ordered a side of mac and cheese that was nothing to write home about. The mac and cheese was hot and fresh, but it was under seasoned. Hence the 4 stars. Overall I was impressed. I will be returning to try other menu items like the Jason Sandwich, the Portabella Cheese Burger, and the Vegetarian Ciabatta.

This restaurant was featured in Eater Atlanta Athens Top Ten Edition as well coming in 3rd for Trip Advisor's Athens BBQ Restaurants. My guest was a bit leery on the name choice as it doesn't conjour up pittmaster BBQ. But while he doesn't feel strongly about Google Reviews, he did have more faith in Trip Advisor. And I pointed out this restaurant made both lists. As we wanted to dine out for Sunday Dinner another factor was serving Sunday evening until 8PM. We had the only appetizer - Housemade Pimento Cheese with Wheat Crackers. We also shared both BBQ Plates - Pulled Pork and Pulled Chicken which are accompanied by a soft, warm Roll, Mac and Cheese, and Coleslaw. The Macaroni is soft and well cooked with a good balance of cheese. Coleslaw is fresh cabbage with light dressing. BBQ was moist. While other reviews mention BBQ Sauce Overload to the point of getting messy, we had light sauce on both plates. We also shared the fresh Banana Pudding. Sadly the bathroom is accessed via the back of the building walking on several uneven surfaces which is not wheelchair accessible. (Surface starts off cement, uneven brick, leaves/grass, and uneven concrete. But if you have light mobility issues the bathroom itself has handicap railings. Plenty of parking on street or across the street in the neighboring church parking lot with permission. The ambiance is eclectic and cozy.

Cool little place in old Athens residential area. Sunday brunch menu was interesting and I liked it. We tried the pimento cheese and chicken salad plate, the pork BBQ plate, and the sausage gravy biscuits topped with fried eggs. They were fairly busy and in fairness to them it says the food will not be prepared quickly right on the menu. They were right, as it took 30 minutes to get our food. A little puzzling as the fried eggs were the only thing we has cooked to order. The pimento cheese and chicken salad we're good. The chicken in the salad is smoked, which I liked. The pork BBQ was heavy on the smoke, but definitely not bad. The biscuits and gravy dish was the most disappointing. There was litteraly a teaspoon of gravy on the average at best biscuit (1). The fried eggs were good. Maybe they were running low on gravy. The portions are definitely smallish either way, overall. I'd definitely try it again. The burgers on the menu looked intriguing. Certainly worth another visit.

I never do reviews! This place however deserves one. My daughter and I were in town for a college tour and decided to grab some food before heading home. We googled and came across this spot Reviews were good so I said "why not? " when we pulled up I was slightly skeptical because I'm so picky about everything but I wanted to try something we didn't have at home so we went on in. OK when you walk in the smell is AMAZING! The vibe was eclectic and cozy. The customer service was A-1. My daughter loved the guys Hawaiian shirt that took our orders. The menu was different, sandwiches but no fries but the gentleman taking our order suggested the mixed vegetables. Those veggies were so fresh and delicious I had the special pulled/ shredded smoked chicken sandwich (omit the pimento cheese & add cole slaw) that sandwich was the best chicken sandwich I've ever tasted in my life! My daughter ordered the Alice burger. Yes I had to try hers OMG that burger was delicious too. At this point I wanted to try the entire menu lol. They have great vegetation options as well. I grabbed an Alice burger to go for my son who had totally missed this wonderful experience because he went to school instead of the tour with us - guess what? HE LOVED IT TOO! Definitely hoping she picks UGA so I can eat at this place every time I visit. If not I'll have to make the drive up when I have time to do so, I absolutely love it! Thank you all for a wonderful...
