Honestly, if I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Joe and his colleagues deserve ALL OF THE STARS POSSIBLE. I dropped my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ and shattered the glass screen, and they were able to replace it and get it back to me the same day that I brought it to them. We met outside at the Jittery Joe's and I felt very safe and comfortable (considering the COVID-19 pandemic). When I got my phone back, I later found out that the volume up button wasn't working. I emailed them, got another appointment for the next day, and Joe fixed the issue right there in less than 20 minutes! After receiving my new working phone, I decided I would add extra protection and applied a glass screen protector that needed UV glue adhesive. But due to my own recklessness.... I got glue in the top earpiece and was unable to hear calls anymore. I emailed them for the third time in three days and Joe met me again to troubleshoot my problem. He fixed it right up in a few hours and got it back to me the same day! I cannot HIGHLY RECOMMEND Average Joe Repair enough! Super friendly, super professional, and they contact you with prices and your options before going through with the repair. And all repairs come backed with a 90 day warranty, which clearly saved me from more costly phone repairs. I trust nobody else with my phone repairs and other electronic repairs.

I had taken an old iPad Air to them that wasn't powering on, and they ran all of these diagnostic tests just to find out that the part that needed replacing wouldn't be worth the cost... but they informed me of everything they did along the way and didn't charge me anything for the diagnostic tests.

Tl;dr USE AVERAGE JOE REPAIR FOR YOUR PHONE AND ELECTRONIC REPAIR...

I strongly caution anyone considering this business for phone repair. On May 6, 2025, my daughter dropped off her fully functional iPhone for a simple case replacement. She was told it would take 2–3 hours—no issue was raised about timing, even though she was leaving for an overseas trip just three days later.

When we picked up the phone, it powered on briefly showing zero battery—but within hours it stopped working entirely. The device, which was fully operational earlier that week, was now unusable.

I later had the phone inspected by a trusted technician who found no water damage (what I was told was the problem), but confirmed that incorrect screws were used during reassembly, causing internal damage to the logic board.

The owner, Joe, denied responsibility and blamed the phones condition as the reason it broke while in his care. He offered a discount on a replacement (which wasn’t in stock) and said he’d consider buying the phone if I returned it, despite already knowing the condition. Meanwhile, we lost out on a $300 trade-in value.

When I requested a reasonable $130 reimbursement (subtracting the $170 for a new case that Joe had installed), I was refused. I’ve never left a review like this before, but consumers deserve to know the risks of doing business here. Poor workmanship, zero accountability, and dismissive...

Average joes repair is one of the greatest entrepreneurial additions to Athens I've noticed since I've started living here. The owner is incredibly competent, friendly, and beyond an expert in his field. I've gone to him with liquid damage to motherboards, cracked phone screens, upgrade needs, and even to consign old equipment!

I've received personal, not corporate or robotic, service every single time with a professional every single time and I am amazed with how quickly they work. My phone screen was fixed in front of me, my laptop was repaired overnight, and I have been given the best prices I have ever heard of through them.

I have trusted Average Joe Repair as my primary computer, cellular, and tablet repair service for beyond two years. They have grown as an organization faster than I could have imagined and they never seem too busy for an Average Joe like me. The benefits you may not realize with a very streamlined and impersonal company is you just get your items fixed over a long period of time, with relatively no information and a big price tag. Every time I've used average Joe's I can honestly I've learned a substantial amount about computers and phones and now I actually have an interest in doing research on my own time, this is something I never thought I'd be doing!
