My wife wanted to have a joint work breakfast and chose this restaurant to sit outside and enjoy the weather while dining. Upon arrival, we asked to be seated outside and inquired if the location had guest wifi access. The host said they had wifi and said she didn't think a password was needed. We sat down and looked through the two sided menu. Most of what is listed is prescripted. There's a build your own bowl section, but not one for omlets or stand-alone egg combinations. Everything is pretty much chosen for you. Curiously, biscuits do not play promently on the sit down menu, as you pretty much have get up and look at physical signs to figure out what your options are for biscuits. The server came out several minutes later to announce that no one told her we were there. She also did not know anything about a wifi connection, so we connected to the store wifi next door. She was not ready for us to order and went to get coffee. My coffee was only half full on her return. She took our order. My wife ordered the breakfast tacos, and I ordered a bacon-egg-cheese biscuit combo. My wife said her meal looked a lot better than it tasted. It was bland and uninteresting. I received what is easily the worst biscuit I have eaten in years. When I picked it up, it broke into four pieces. The center of the biscuit was almost raw. The eggs seems to be some sort of corporate creation; smooth, square and folded over. Commercial cheese and pretty well executed bacon was there as well. All of it arrived on my plate as if someone had casually placed it on the plate by tossing it from several feet down the make line. The combo came with potatoes, one of which had a gigantic blight spot. It appears that details are not important to this restaurant. The server returned several minutes into the meal to ask how it was. I did not answer, as it would have taken a lot of time to explain just how off the mark it was. She left but returned a couple of minutes later to tell us that she wasn't rushing us, but she was bringing the check, which sounded really awkward. We finished up our meal, but continued to drink coffee. When the server came back we asked for a refill on the coffee, and she said that she would bring them back in to-go cups. This made us feel like they wanted us to clear out. We felt unwelcome. In total, I did not enjoy our experience, the food, or the service. Either the staff is not well trained, or the staff is trained to try to turn over tables as quickly as possible. It was not evident that anyone really cares. In a town that really does not have a lot of breakfast spots, I'm sure this place will do very well, but they will never see me again.

Read moreNice options for vegetarians. A bit pricey. I would have given them a higher rating except they serve Terrapin Brewery, which has sold out to Coors. Coors, the highly anti LGBT. company.
Just Bought Athens's Terrapin Beer Co. One of the staples in Georgia's booming craft beer scene is now a subsidiary of a major American macro. Terrapin Beer Co., which was founded in Athens in 2002, is now under the MillerCoors umbrella.Jul 20, 2016
UPDATE I used to go to the ORIGINAL Flying Biscuit in Atlanta. A couple of days ago we went to the Athens location. CONTRARY TO THE DECEIVING IMAGE ABOVE there is no pitcher of syrup you pour for yourself anymore According to the nice young man Manager, "Corporate" has decided to give you single serving, plastic corporate made smuckers syrup. My partner had a waffle that came with the syrup already on it from the kitchen and when I asked if they would provide me with that instead of opening this piece of plastic, the server said okay. She then proceeded to bring me two more pieces of single use plastic containers with syrup in them, but poured in the kitchen What is it about corporate that they can make enormous profits but refuse to acknowledge their contribution to the world wide plastic endemic?
The facebook page does not allow you to leave a message unless it is under one of their posts And, by the way, the "corporate" website has only one page that offers a link to " contact us", but that link only goes back to the main page Until corporate food chains step up and take responsibility, they no longer deserve...
Read moreWe went as this had vegan options and we appreciate more restaurants offering these. So we go to support them. BUT...
The vegan tofu wrap had dark chicken meat in it. I didn’t notice this until I had already eaten half the wrap. I Immediately lost my appetite, as did my wife. The collard greens were cold and I think missing the “spicy” part of the ‘spicy collard greens.’ Coffee was super watered down and the waitress took our coffee cups to the back to refill them (after being empty for 10 minutes). No clue if the cups we got back were ours. They certainly weren’t new cups as they still had soy creamer in them (we hope) from our first cups.
The restaurant is really nice inside and this place had potential. The waitress lacked even basic hospitality skills and though she apologized for the chicken (not her fault), she asked me if I still wanted to pay for the wrap!? They were gracious enough to take it off the tab, but no one came over to the table to say anything about it. Which was pretty lame. You’d expect more I suppose.
I had high hopes for this place, as my first door dash order a few days ago for the tofu wrap was really good! Unfortunately, we won’t return.
2 stars literally just for offering vegan options and for the...
