Samurai Steakhouse — Restaurant in Athens

Samurai Steakhouse is a bit of a double edged sword to review. It’s never been “bad” the service has always been good and the food is “good”. Never has a “great” or an “awesome” experience. I would say it’s accumulatively- lackluster. The food is overpriced with small portions. For the price - you could get hibachi from Ninja and walk out with enough food for several days. Samurai is a gem in that it will always be “good” and if you feel like spending too much or are in a hurry it will serve you well. It will rarely be “great” in terms of the food due to value. Small restaurant in Athens conveniently located along hey 72 athens. This is the first time eating here around 1:00pm . I was seated and ordered a hot tea it was delivered not even warm. I asked the wait staff to please heat it up and they returned with it properly warmed. I placed my order for a bento box of chicken. Within 5 minutes of it being delivered I was given the bill. This made me box up my food to take home. Before leaving I had taken a few bites and I was less than expressed because of how much it was I asked for a to go box for my dog to at least eat. It's my opinion that for the price you can go to Ninja close to Walmart and for the same price get a much better quality dinner and certainly service. I would not recommend Samurai Steakhouse for consumption of Sushi. The sushi I paid for was $48 and some change on a take out order. The length of time to place the order with staff was and is unacceptable. The staff couldn't handle the volume of guests, for proper service, which was on a Friday night before 7 pm. The sushi itself was very small proportions and little amounts of fresh fish. All the sushi fit on 2 small takeout dishes. I ordered my sushi with the little orange fish eggs(roe) and I was astonished how little amount of fish egg (roe) food you get for $48.
