The Social on Depot Hill — Restaurant in Athens

My wife and I seen the reviews and decided too order Uber eats. We ordered a pizza, two meatball subs, and salad. Food was gross! Ice cold meatballs, pizza was cold and had a strange burnt taste. Called to complain and the manager had the nerve to blame the Uber eats driver. She said she must have sat in the parking lot with the food. No she didn't! Poor girl sat in the parking lot for 30 mins waiting and messaged us multiple times letting us know she was still waiting and waiting. We can see on the app her location and when the food is picked up. It took her 2 mins to get here. Even if the food was hot it wouldn't have been good. Poor taste! First time ordering and last! The manager told me to get my money back from Uber eats. The proper way to settle this would've been to have the restaurant refund us. Uber don't really have a cut and clean refund process. You want a honest review from someone with over 200 reviews? I have had food all over the country and this by far is the worst we've ever had. Denying you screwed up and offering to remake the food or a refund would've been the right thing. I would've gladly brought it back. $82 without tip 🤣 what a rip off. An enjoyable new local spot mostly focused on pizza and cocktails. Walking in there is a nice bar and seating area giving an upscale sports bar feel. For larger parties or when it's crowded there is a massive seating area around the corner of the bar that's very open with a karaoke stage. The cocktail menu has a few twists on the classics and don't miss the sweets section that has some really nice drinks including an espresso martini and key lime pie martini. The pizza is a thin crust smaller pie that's a good meal for one and a nice snack for two (or add a salad) our initial one came out overcooked but they were happy to fix that and the result was quite tasty. Our friends got the Hawaiian pizza and really enjoyed it. The garlic knots were a hit as were the wings in a bbq sauce if I recall correctly. We walked in and were hopeful for a good dinner and they weren’t extremely busy. We sat in the back which was a lot hotter than the front room with the bar, they didn’t seem understaffed until it took 15 mins to get waters, another 10 to order, and then 2 reminders to get a beer and glass of wine. The salads were underwhelming and small portions, limited menu with 0 modifications for dietary restrictions and over priced.
