It started off bad with several flies attacking me as I entered the booth and almost the entire time if I hadn't dispatched them to God himself 2/3 of my stay through. If they even go to "God". My weapon of choice for this matter will be revealed at the end if you stay that long so you too may have a chance if you visit! First, I got my chips and salsa and green salsa...kid said the green salsa was hot...it wasn't. The regular salsa didn't even taste like salsa...I was confused by that, I've never experienced that, I eat a lot of salsa. I got the chicken taquitos with white queso....I def detected the use of a microwave with the dish. I tried the guacamole that was a side with it and it might not have had an avocado in it or any hint of anything that made it taste like guacamole...i tried 3 times in different places on the little scoop and still nothing. I began questioning my decisions in life but continued anyway. I also got myself some shrimp nachos, why, idk...it tasted exactly like what I saw in front of me but with a hint of cardboard. Just so you know...I don't really like that at all...eating cardboard I mean. The sweat tea was great. It seemed like there were a lot of kids eating in there, that was pretty strange but not a problem. The cashier ended up being one of the kids sitting on my side ...no problem there. Overall, should I have tried something else, yes, will I go back, no, most likely not. I had my trusty Winchester hat on...that was my weapon for the fly hord on that fateful day. Good luck to you if you decide to go....

Read moreWhile on a road trip to Hot Springs, we stopped at this restaurant for lunch (11:45am). We were greeted and sat quickly. Their booths were extremely roomy. I loved that the chips were warm and tasted fresh and the salsa not hot (although we found out later you can ask for the hot salsa for those of you with a sunburned pallets). We ordered the white queso, a bit on the thick side but tasty. The food was good. I ordered the lunch L8 beef enchiladas and beef taco and my boyfriend ordered the lunch rice bowl. Both came out hot and tasted freshly made. Our server Daniela was on top of it, and very friendly. We found out this is a family business. All family hands were on deck where the youngest checked us out when we paid. They all made you feel welcomed as soon as you walked through the door. Restrooms were clean but they were out of paper towels in the men's rooms and I got the last bit of soap in the ladies room but once advised they immediately remedy that. We would recommend that you stop in and have some good food and to visit this hard...
