On the West Side of Atlanta, something delicious is cooking up… No doubt you’ve heard about how the west side is booming. Loads of apartments, retail, axe throwing, nightclubs…we even have our own Top Golf over here…!! And now we can boast to the best about the newest vegan bakery to open up in Blandtown: Flour and Time. Listen up and listen good: The pastries and coffee here are not to be missed. As of this writing they’ve only been open for a few days, but I can’t say how excited I am for the west side (which up until recently had zero, and I mean ZERO vegan breakfast options) to now be the location for Flour and Time. From cookies, to quiches, full bread loaves, to the flakiest, tastiest croissants…this place is certainly worth a visit. The bear claws? Forget aboutit! The apple turnover? Literally the best I’ve ever eaten. The croissant makes me slap my forehead it’s so good. Decor is minimal, but I can tell they will be growing. Tucked away off the sidewalk of Huff street, under elms amid the bustle, this is exactly what this neighborhood has been needing. If I could give ten stars, I would, and I encourage you to check them out and see for yourself what deliciousness they’re offering to us over here in West Atlanta. Some people will not step anywhere near a vegan bakery on principle alone (literally my neighbors), but for those of us who’ve made the commitment to ending violence and injustice, it’s businesses like this that are barometers for the Winds of Change. In a world obsessed with violence and self destruction, a gem of gentleness and quality has made an appearance. If the mother of invention is necessity, then we’ve long been in need of such local leadership. Let’s together make sure they find all the success they’ve been...
Read moreWell I finally made it to Flour + Time and enjoyed every moment of my visit. The only thing I regretted is that I didn't have enough time to actually sit in the cafe and enjoy my pastry and coffee. This was a to go order.
As soon as I entered, I received a warm welcome from a baker and also from the person that took my order at the register. They have a glass case filled with pastries, croissants, bread, this includes sweet and savory items. Everything is vegan. In addition to baked goods, they also serve coffee and tea. I ordered the Cardigan, based on the ingredients of orange, cardamom, and vanilla bean, it sounded like the perfect winter hot beverage. I really liked that they still included the orange garnishment that came with the drink, even though I had it to go. I'm not sure what beans they use but this was the most delicious cup of coffee I've had this month. Full of warm notes and very smooth.
I also had an apple pastry. It was so delicious, with a buttery and flaky crust. I really appreciate that the apples weren't too sweet.
You will find seats inside and outside. There is free street parking and also a parking garage directly behind the building.
You can place an order for pickup on their website, but if you're picking up your own order, I definitely recommend just waiting and going inside so you can look at the beautiful Items that they have in their display case. They also have other vegan items for purchase. You can also...
Read moreAgain, amazing bakery. Michael - Since you didn’t provide any sort of contact for me to reach out to, I’m not sure how we could even discuss. As someone who has Israeli-American family that just moved back, I can totally relate that human rights are of paramount importance. We can’t possibly understand from here in America what people go through and the hardships of daily life. But to insult my values and tell me I’m not welcome - because you didn’t like my review that I felt that it was unfortunate that the conflict was brought into the shop - is exactly the opposite of the unity / acceptance / respect that you are advocating for.
The latest terror attacks against Jewish people on American soil could not be more appropriate (yet tragic) examples of why it might make people uncomfortable. I didn’t insult you, cross any line, or say anything beyond that it can make people feel uneasy / unsafe when going for a morning pastry. I haven’t been since I found this all out, so you won’t have to worry about me as a customer anymore regardless of...
