My friend and I visited this restaurant one evening. It was my first time. The waitress was extremely nice and attentive! However, due to the manner we were trested by an older white male waiter, I will NEVER go again, nor refer anyone to this establishment. The male waiter approached our table and asked if we were done with the menus, we stated yes, and my friend asked if he could take our plates. He looked at her and said, no I can't, then walked away. We told our waitress about the exchange, which she told the manager. The manager then asked the man to apologize to us, and he started with, I apologize if I made you feel a type of way. My friend then explained it wasnt because of a feeling, but how he spoke to us. He disagreed, so needless to say, we didn't like the apology. 1) We are big on customer service, and we both work in industries dealing with the public on a regular basis. 2) Just because you apologize, that doesn't mean it has to be accepted, ESPECIALLY when you become aggressive. The man literally walked up on my friend due to the fact that he didn't like what she was telling him. He acted as though he was walking towards a table, but he wasn't. He was aggressive and yelling. My friend and I had to tell him to back up multiple times. It was disheartening because he felt comfortable enough to do that to two females. The manager was notified, and all she had to say was that he was having a bad day due to the credit card system being down, and the male servers don't handle stress as well as the females. She comped our meal and drinks, but it wasn't about the money, we were going to spend that anyway. If I was in uniform, and the waiter approached me in the manner he did, I had all justification that I was being threatened. You don't treat people like that! For this experience alone, they could never get my...
Read moreHello fellow #foodiesofatl we want to share our Foodie Friday visit at @fontainesatl in the N. Highlands Area of Atlanta.
Let's start off with the vibes. It was low key, the staff was friendly, and the food service was very quick. Speaking of the food we had some positives and some neutrals. Here is what we had:
Cajun Rice Balls ❤️❤️❤️ These were simply "okay". We wouldn't order them again because there was nothing special about them. We have had tons of great rice balls in Atlanta and this is at the bottom of the list. They were just dull.
John's Famous Cold Crab dip with pita points ❤️❤️❤️ Same as the rice balls, not bad just dull. Would not order again. The pita points were a nice touch though and were warm and soft.
NOLA oysters ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Okay, finally something we loved. These were amazing. We will be back for these again and will order no appetizers. We should have ordered this twice lol
Catfish Seafood Basket ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Cooked perfectly, not too much breading, hot and crunchy on the outside and soft and yummy on the inside. Came with really good fries with cajun seasoning.
Crawfish Tails Basket ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Cooked perfectly, not too much breading, hot and Crispy. This was really awesome!!
The oysters and fried seafood were great. The appetizers left much too be desired. We decided if we back we will go straight in for oysters and fried seafood. We will be back for sure for the seafood!!

Read moreTable for 3 for lunch
We initially stopped in just to take a look at the menu. After reviewing it, we spotted a few items that caught our attention and decided, “Yeah, let’s grab lunch here.” As we made our way to the host stand, a gentleman appeared from around the corner—not particularly warm or welcoming. I let him know we were a party of three and would like to sit outside. He grabbed three menus and guided us to the back patio. The outdoor seating area gave off a definite New Orleans vibe—inviting and relaxed. Shortly after, our server approached and asked if we’d dined there before. When we said it was our first time, she let us know she'd give us a few extra minutes to look over the menu, which we appreciated.
Wifey ordered one of her old favorites, a Blue Moon. I went with “Juiced on Ponce,” and our friend ordered “A Night on Ponce”—both of our beers from 3 Taverns Brewery. We placed our food orders at the same time. Wifey chose the lobster roll with tater tots, while I went with the fried grouper Baja Tacos, also with tots—extra crispy.
The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Presentation was solid, and everything tasted good overall. In fact, it looked so good that another guest stopped by our table to ask what we had ordered and commented on how amazing it looked. My grouper could've been a little crispier, but the flavor was good. Wifey really enjoyed her lobster roll and the portion was pretty big. After we finished eating, we ordered another round of drinks and continued catching up. Overall, it was a positive first experience at Fontaine’s. I’d definitely return if I’m back in the area. 4 stars for the laid-back, New Orleans-style patio—it’s a great vibe. While our server wasn’t exactly warm and fuzzy (she came off a bit detached, maybe overwhelmed), it didn’t take away too much from...
