coffee is as great as other SP locations, but their proud declaration of having no wi-fi is super weird. yeah, it's listed on their window, and yeah, they have a wi-fi network for their internal office, but idk, it's seems like a strange omission for a shop with easily the most seating of any atl coffee shop. another reviewer mentioned the lack of outlets, and while i haven't noticed that while i was there, i did notice that there were at least two plugs above the windows, out of reach from guests. if there are no customer-reaching plugs, then that seems like a mockery.
so i'm left conflicted because i really love Spiller Park (the PCM one is still the best, IMO), but I can't give this store the best review because of these glaring omissions. staff is great, coffee is great, food is solid (a lil expensive, but they've had those prices for years without increasing, which seems like a deal in our current economic climate), but if you need to get a lot of work done here, it might be a challenge if you don't have a long lasting battery or a hotspot. just keep...
Read moreI was so excited when a brand new coffee shop openes up in our area. The thought of being able to walk to a new hang was energizing! Upon arriving though, the layout feels a bit cold and uninviting. There's no place to wait for your drinks inside after ordering and the bench seats are very uncomfortable. Worst of all, the staff isn't very accommodating and mostly talk to themselves, not the customer.
Still, not terrible. It's a new place and changes will occur with time. Growing pains, amirite? However, navigating to the Google reviews and seeing the curt & snappy review replies from both the GM and owner feels incredibly disheartening and generally indifferent. Your customers, for better or worse, are the best soundboard you have. As business owners, criticism comes with the territory. Read reviews and use them to shape and hone your business. Let the 'useless' ones roll off your back like water. Get to know & trust your customers and they will respond in kind.
I hope, with time, this place grows into the locally-loved spot we...
Read moreSpiller Park Coffee is one of the most recent additions to the Moores Mill complex. It's a small but mighty cafe, with seating both indoors and outdoors. Inside, there are a number of two-tops and one large communal table. On a Sunday afternoon, I appreciated how quiet and zen the space was for a working session.
They brew their own chai concentrate here - props for in-house preparations! - but we both found the chai latte extremely strong tasting (or, as my husband put it after a few sips, "far too spicy."). I accept that may be a matter of preference, but we much preferred my matcha latte, which was delicious and perfectly sweetened straight out of the bar.
Non-dairy milks are available (oat and macadamia), and there are a number of bottled beverages available in a small fridge. There's also a small selection of baked goods available on the daily. We didn't know there was a menu of savory breakfast items until we saw all the Yelp praises after the fact, so it looks like a return visit will...
