Another visit to a locally owned chef owned and operated restaurant and grill. Always loved to shop local e-local and support our local businesses. We were in this area today. Three of us and decided we should stop here and he as we've seen it many times but never had the time to stop. Boy we were glad we did. Fantastic! Friendly shirtless from Gail. She treated as well and took great care of us. She suggested items for us to order and we had an excellent lunch. Got to speak to the chef also later and he was humble and thankful that we stopped by today Now about the food Well I had the catfish po' boy and the catfish was a full fillet cooked perfectly nice and light, not greasy at all. Of course what also makes a great pool. Boy is the bread and this bread was very fresh. Very light. It's a great baguette. Crisp lettuce and tomato with a great robalod sauce. I also had grilled broccoli and it was a huge portion. As a matter of fact, I had to take some of the broccoli home. One of my partners had the Creole grilled chicken sandwich and fries. A nice size chicken breast done on a real grill with good toppings and another remoulade sauce. A french fries were done great and they were seasoned lightly with salt and also a nice dusting of parsley. Very nice. The third order was a large bowl of gumbo. And my friend really enjoyed it. It only hit the spot, especially on a day-to-day. That was overcast and slightly cool as he was riding motorcycle. He really enjoyed that. Gumbo. If you look at the pictures you can see that our PTSD dog atom enjoyed his self too. Atmosphere Very industrial. Very open kitchen as you walk in the back to the door. The restrooms is open so you can see what's going on. Nice outdoor seating then. Also a outdoor semi closed with heater . Overall very nice place. Parking parking's limited and the front row is all compact cars, but there is enough parking. You just have to maneuver into it. Overall excellent food. Excellent service! We will definitely be back. Thanks very much

If you think this location is anything like Main St. don’t waste your time. I’ve made 3 visits here in two weeks & have been HIGHLY disappointed all 3 times. My 1st visit I asked for cranberry & pineapple juice over ice. Was charged $3 for cranberry & $3 for pineapple. Pretty much charged for two different drinks only to get a shots worth of juice for $6. Catfish entree is nothing like Main St… the pieces are huge & it’s way too much breading. The breading & fish were undercooked BOTH times that I’ve ordered it. The breading falls off the fish while eating it because it is TOO THICK. My 2nd visit I tried the beignets which were thick & tasted like biscuits. Nowhere near light & airy, plus they were over cooked. Exchanged the beignets for the corner square & it too was hard. It taste like it had been warmed in the microwave & was not fresh. The grouper was over cooked as well & taste like rubbery chicken; I couldn’t even cut it with my fork. My 3rd visit ordered food to go over the phone & dealt with a condescending lady with platinum blonde hair who I believe to be one of the owners. I arrive & asked her husband/bartender/owner a question & was he was rude. The to-go bill was $45, I gave her $60; she disappears & when I asked for my change she responds verbatim “I thought I was getting a tip.” As the owner of this establishment you have wayyyy bigger fish to fry (literally) like customer satisfaction & food quality instead of being concerned about a to-go tip which shouldn’t possibly be more than 10 % of the check. In all, I’ve spent $300 at this establishment & would be a fool to waste any more of my money! Main St is clearly the priority… why open a 2nd location just to provide lackluster service & a mediocre dining experience???

10s across the board. Highly impressed with my time and experience at The Corner Grille. My friend and I googled a nearby spot to have dinner and TGC will be returner guests in the future. Everything is reasonably priced and the staff is upbeat, friendly, and have quick service. You can tell they work well as a team. We ordered our drinks and I got the lemon pepper chicken entree and my friend got the cheeseburger. The chicken dish is phenomenal and just melts in your mouth with every bite. So creamy and flavorful. Never knew how much I needed it. Lol the establishment is very clean and bright. There is an enclosed outdoor patio available as well. I imagine the restrooms are nice. There is parking in the front available. Seems like the perfect amount for the size of the restaurant. Only takeaway, is unfortunately the area has a pungent smell because of the water treatment plant nearby. But it didn’t turn us away! I can’t wait to come back and try the brunch menu.

Long story, please read

Tonight we were looking for a restaurant to dine for my husband’s birthday. We landed on the The Corner Grille Upper Westside.

We ordered 2 catfish & shrimp dinners that came with coleslaw and fries. I also ordered an additional piece of catfish for my son since they didn’t have a kids menu. We ordered an extra side of broccoli and an order of beignets with a side of raspberry and a side of praline sauce. The server explained that they don’t have a way to add an additional piece of catfish but he would figure it out by substituting. They also told use they were out of praline sauce so I settled on caramel. When the check comes, we review it and there’s 2 catfish dinners for $21.00 each A charge for an additional catfish filet $8.00 A charge for additional fried shrimp $10.00 The extra broccoli A sprite for $5.00 🙄 2 other beverages Praline sauce for $3.00 After I paid for the dinner I noticed the extra charge for the “additional shrimp” that we did not order. We asked the server to come over and he explained it as they didn’t have a way to add an additional piece of catfish so he had to substitute for shrimp. However, the receipt said “additional catfish filet $8.00 AND an additional order of fried shrimp $10.00 He kept saying that he couldn’t add the fish so he added the shrimp. This didn’t make sense so we asked for a manager. The manager was the owner who was also the servers dad. He came over and tried to explain it in the same way. Still didn’t make sense. So I paid $18.00 for an additional piece of catfish is what I’m understanding. I was also told that they would remove the $3.00 praline sauce since they were out but they never removed it. We were very nice and calm but there was no attempt from the owner to try and resolve the conflict or to accommodate us at all. I know I will never visit this establishment again but am I crazy or...
