So I went yesterday to try this restaurant that had caught my eye for a while. I saw the people outside waiting for their food and knew I had to try it.
When I first arrived it looked closed so I went to a few stores near by and came back to find out it was open, there just wasn’t any signs or indications of it being open when I first drove past.
I ordered the hickory salmon bites and the smoked turkey wing plate with Mac n cheese and collard greens which by my surprise was only $30.
The owner was super cocky about the dishes when I asked if they were good and didn’t seem interested in much conversation but did answer my questions. I told him I would be making this review with my name on it lol.
I received my food piping hot which I love and the turkey wings fell apart I could taste the smoke but I wish they had a little more of the flavor from the juice that collected at the bottom. The collard greens were good as well. The mac and cheese was basic but way better than what other restaurants offer I would say. My disappointment was the salmon bites. Although the flavor was there they were dry and crushed my spirit as I love smoked salmon and was told these were GREAT! I do see the potential for them to be great but out of 6 bites only one of the small ones had the tenderness I was looking for.
That will not stop me from going back though as the food was good and there are other things I want to try such as the ribs and the brisket and so much more. Minus the “little tude” I will definitely be back. It’s nice to have this option in this area!

Read morei am very disappointed in this first experience with this place. for starters, here is what I ordered via DoorDash: turkey wing platter w/ collard greens n mac; smoked wings app, salmon bites app, 4 sweet potato muffins. $50 later, what i got was a bbq chicken platter, NO collard greens, 2 mac n cheeses, 6 salmon bite pieces, smoked wings, and only 3 muffins. there was no communication from the restaurant or the driver (which i already took up with DoorDash) that the turkey wing platter was out of stock. they replaced it with the BBQ wings making it way more chicken than we wanted or needed. I don’t even know if they were out of collards or not. the muffins we did get were overcooked. I will say that the food overall tasted pretty solid—my children and i liked the taste of the muffins once we got past them being overdone. the mac n cheese was flavorful n cheesy. however, i need those salmon bites to be in the $7-8 range because baebae, WHY are we paying $12 for a small piece of salmon cut up into only 6 smaller bite size pieces?? Sigh… it’s close to the house, so i may give them one more shot but i will do it as a walk up and not thru a delivery service again. I even tried calling the business directly to get clarity on my order...
Read moreMy young daughter and I were in the general vicinity and had seen the restaurant on Instagram. We'd saved the video so that we could give them a try. Boy are we glad we did! We didn't order ahead, so when we placed our orders, we settled in for what we thought would be a long wait. We were wrong. I ordered a half slab of ribs with collards and potato salad. My daughter ordered the 2piece chicken platter with fried Okra and potato salad. Our orders came up after a short wait. My ribs were tender and flavorful. I think I make the best ribs and so do my kids but these were on point. The collards were the best from a restaurant that I've had. I don't usually like sweet potato salad but it was good and went well with the ribs. My daughter loved the fried Okra. She kept commenting on how good the breading was so I had to try a couple and she was right. I'm guessing she enjoyed the chicken too since the bones looked like they'd been lying in the desert for years after she finished with them. We'll make a trip just to visit this place (coming from Gwinnett) next time. I hope the community realizes what a gem they have in their midst and frequents The PCC often. We'll...
