If you’re considering going to Urban Pie—don’t.
We were genuinely excited to give this place a second chance, especially after hearing it had been on Bar Rescue. We had previously stayed away due to awful service, but thought, maybe they’d turned things around. Spoiler: they haven’t.
To say we were disappointed would be putting it mildly. You can’t slap lipstick on a pig and call it filet mignon—and honestly, I would’ve respected an unapologetic pig more.
We arrived around 5:50 p.m. and while the place was busy, there were clearly open tables. Instead of a friendly greeting, the man working the patio barked at us to stand and wait—for what, he didn’t say. Eventually, the bar manager, Kira, went against the apparent plan of the waitstaff and seated us herself. That should’ve been our red flag.
We were handed two menus—one “old,” one “new.” Some of the new menus had prices clumsily crossed out and rewritten—$10 more than what was printed. The old ones listed dishes that no longer exist. Chaos before the first order.
After waiting 20 minutes, we were able to order drinks and fries. They brought four plates for five people, explaining that Bar Rescue had “thrown away their plates.” Seriously?
When the fries finally came out, we ordered two pizzas. Over an hour and 45 minutes later, still no food. We had to re-give our order to Kira, who approached us like it was the first time she’d spoken to us. Meanwhile, two tables seated at least 20 minutes after us received their food and finished eating. When we again asked what the timeline of our pizzas would be, we were told "another 10 minutes." We asked for our check for the things we had received. The waitress brought the bill back and acted like it was a favor that she had removed the pizzas (that we never received) from it. And these pizzas that were so challenging to the kitchen - a cheese and a Margherita pie.
The excuses came rolling in: short-staffed, overwhelmed, down a pizza oven. No apologies. No accountability. Just a steady chorus of “it’s not our fault.” Actually—it absolutely is. This is a management disaster from top to bottom.
Urban Pie is a textbook example of how not to run a restaurant. The service is abysmal, the operations are a mess, and the attitude is worse. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.
Avoid it...
Read moreI normally don't do many reviews but I just got home and knew I had to write one for this place. I'll start off with the good, the waitress was nice. Now for everything else. Our experience at Urban pie today was horrible. We are vegan, ordered two vegan pizzas, one with vegan cheese and vegan chorizo and the other with vegan cheese, vegan pepperoni, and tomatoes. One came out correct the other was with real cheese, sun dried tomatoes, and spinach (completely wrong). We took a bite and knew right away. They apologized and made the pizza over again. Now as our son eats we are waiting for the pizza to be made, by the time he finishes his meal our pizza is out (so long wait). This time the pizza is done correctly but it was over baked. The crust and dough was so hard it was like eating a pretzel or cracker (left flakes all over our clothes) We only ate a few slices and told the waitress we were not happy with our pizza. The MANAGER never came out to check and ask about why we were not pleased. For a very expensive pizza I would've been willing to at the MOST pay for half of the pizza but the waitress told us the manager only took away one of our baskets of fries. So for us getting the wrong pizza, having it made over again, long wait, and it being hard and crusty we paid a discounted price of $20 (instead of $25). Unbelievable, I've been to plenty of places and when they make mistakes they compensate you fairly. Not here. This was our first and LAST time at this spot. We would've appreciated the decency of the manager to have at least said something. All together we paid $67 for 2 pizzas (one that was horrible) and one basket of fries. Very frustrated and HUNGRY still after paying close to...

Rumor has it that Urban Pie was selected to be on Bar Rescue.
Seeing their new menu and hopes for a much improved experience. I made another visit to the pie.
First thing I noticed upon entering. Was how extremely loud the bar are was. It is not an inviting space.
Upon receiving the menu. The most noticeable thing is that the original prices are crossed out and the new prices are double.
I am unsure if the owners were only trying to show an image on TV. Or if they are just too cheap to print new menus.
Most important, how is the food quality and what are the prices like?
Food quality. A minor step above a frozen store brand pizza.
It is way overpriced. They honestly think $32 for a small/medium pizza. With no meat and just a couple of toppings.
The prices, quality, and service are way out of line for what they deliver. Pretty much any other pizza restaurant in Atlanta is significantly better and less expensive.
Initial review: The staff is friendly. But that is pretty much where the positives end. Has to be slowest pizza in the ATL. Which would be fine if the quality was there. Unfortunately, you are paying a premium+ price for an at best average pizza. If you take the time to figure the cost vs. quality of ingredients vs. taste compared to price. Urban Pie comes out on the lower end of the scale.
I won't say I will never eat here again. But based on my multiple experiences. It will be a tough sell to return. Cant really think of a reason why they warrant anyone's business. Given how many other options...
