Initially I had reservations about what I was going to encounter, entering. Firstly, the parking is not enough for the amount of people who visit. I parked in the Shell gas station so not much of a walk. I've seen people parking under the bridge on top of the curve or further down parked on the street.
As I entered, I enjoyed the buzzing of conversation and the multiple tvs for sports. Since I was a party of one, I'm always feeling awkward about seating. I was able to secure a bar seat on the far corner right next to the game that I wanted to watch. The bartender, an older male, took care of me although I was quite low maintenance and he even gave me extra tater tots, guess I didn't have many to my meal to begin with. I appreciate that gesture because they could have not even bothered. The value of the meal was spot on and plenty for me. The drinks, competitively prices compared to the area, had a generous pour.
Honestly, I liked the clientele. They were mostly older and coupled up. Unassuming. I'm actually more at ease with older men than men my age. I liked fading to the background and was checked up on at the right time to request my bill.

Read moreWhy can't we gays have nice things? I met a friend on a Friday night at the new "Woofs" for some food and drinks. It was packed. I had to park somewhat illegally across the street from the adjacent gas station. There was only one small table left up front to sit. I ordered drinks for my friend and I from a not so very friendly bartender. The drinks were good and YES they were in real glasses, not a plastic cup. I also ordered some food. An hour later, no food. Alcohol on an empty stomach is not a good combo, so I went to the bartender and he admitted that "they were really backed up." An hour for some basic food out of a fryer? I canceled my food order, ran to the nasty gas station next door, heated up a terrible chicken sandwich, and that was dinner. The space is bigger but way too bright. It's a gay bar, turn down the lights a bit! The space also lacks any character whatsoever. Very sterile. I just don't get it why nearly all of our gay establishments just can't get their acts together. No wonder gay people mix in at straight establishments now. Atlanta is full of great bars and restaurants. Our gay places need a...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars, I would. The food was terribly over cooked but the worst part of the experience was the manager’s attitude.
When I had an issue with my order, instead of helping, the manager was dismissive and downright rude. He acted like I was inconveniencing him by asking for a simple fix, rolling his eyes and speaking to me in a condescending tone. At one point, he even made the statement that if the food isn’t meeting my expectations I should not order food there—completely unprofessional and unnecessary. He also refused to remove the food from my check even though I didn’t eat it.
Good service can make up for mediocre food, but when the management treats customers like an annoyance, it’s a dealbreaker. There are plenty of other bars in town that actually value their patrons—this one certainly doesn’t.
Save yourself the frustration and take your...
