I’ve had dinner here 2x in two months and the experience was consistent both times, which is a sign of a restaurant that’s well run.
The staff is kind, responsive, and knowledgeable about everything on the menu.
I most recently dined in for Valentine’s Day and was impressed at the speed of service and food quality. We also made a reservation in advance.
My partner and I ordered two cocktails and appetizers, all of which arrived within ~5 minutes. Appetizers were steaming off the plate — loved the arancini.
For dinner I ordered the pork chop and my partner the penne pasta with blackened chicken. Again, both entrees came out steaming fresh out of the kitchen and they tasted wonderful.
(On my first visit I tried the mussels and sampled the steak and frites from my friend’s plate and all of it was great.)
Dessert was delightful, we each got tres leches and chocolate chip bread pudding, which sparked conversation with our table neighbors over how good it all was.
Shoutout to whoever curates the playlists, the music creates such a good vibe at the right volume. Both times I dined in, I heard compliments around me about the music.
I love finding a local restaurant that truly feels like a neighborhood spot and this is it.
We’ll make this our go-to date night spot and where we’ll meetup with friends until the staff tells us they’re tired of seeing us!
Thank you to the owners and staff for making Valentine’s special for everyone who walked through...
Read moreMy cousin and I have dined here twice. First with a Group of friends. The first time they were out of mussels so we just decided to eat with our party and we’d come back. Upon our return the next day, Alberto who was the manager according to him said “I remember you guys because you tipped little”! In the RUDEST way imaginable. We were in a group and paid separately so we asked who tipped little because we always tip 20% or more. When asking he couldn’t answer because he didn’t remember. We then asked why he would treat us this way when he didn’t know if it was us (it was not). He was rolling his eyes, calling us sensitive because he was “keeping it real” then when we asked why he thought it was a good idea to bring it up, he said “I’m just telling it like it is, I live off tips!” We are servers, so we get it BUT there is no reason to be rude to returning customers ESPECIALLY when you do not know if they were the ones who tipped poorly. Not to mention, he took our menus from us when we told him that he can’t speak to us that way!!! It is the most disgusting thing I have ever experienced from another human being. I wish Alberto the absolute worst and I pray you do not eat here. It is not worth being belittled. The food is okay, it’s not very clean, it could use a renovation. But the way we were treated took it over the top for me. I plan to mention this on IG and if they have a Facebook I will be sharing it as...
Read moreWhen you hear "hole in the wall" mentioned for a restaurant you expect it to be pretty damn good well, Ziba's is that. Tucked away in the corner of a small business multiplex on Boulevard SE you might miss it if you weren't paying attention (Boulevard is a bit busy!). Ziba's has that charm and elegance of a larger, higher end restaurant but yet small enough to keep things from being forgotten. The intimate setting, unique layout and decor gives a hint of France and Italy snuggling up with south Georgia and that's just the atmosphere!
I don't know who the chef is but they do not get enough praise! The dishes served up are incredibly good and not just thrown together or made in a cookie cutter fashion. The portions are large so plan to get a to-go box! Lots of flavor, savory sauces and cooked to perfection. I've had their jambalaya and their tamales and both were so good. They also have an incredible wine and whiskey selection for you to enjoy along with select beers if that's more your style.
If you're looking for that next great little place then give Ziba's a shot, you...
