We came here after work to grab take-out for the family’s dinner. We knew what we wanted, we asked a free questions, easy peasy. Placed our order. One girl was new, seemingly being trained (and being told to do everything). The other girl took our order and rang us up (and was telling the “girl in training” what to do while she just stood behind the counter). One guy was watching Jeopardy…Anywho, we’re sitting there waiting on our order, and the girl behind the counter asks if we’d like something to drink while we’re waiting. I was like, “sure”. She gets us two ice teas and then adds $4 to our tab. Huh? You ask us if we’d like to have something to drink while we wait and then you charge us for the drinks? I thought she was being nice. Nah. I told her to remove them from our tab. (Insert eye roll). The full size mushroom and spinach lasagna pieces seemed small but were tasty and filling. The teenager was pleased with the pizza, of course. The service was just meh/blah and lacked any authentic “service”.

Listen, I’m from NY and expect great things, but I have been able to find solid pizza in ATL. First time at GCP I thought it was solid, decent pizza. Second time it was undercooked and doughy. The pizza wasn’t really cut, so there I am trying to cut it with a plastic fork when I was with my kids in a park. I thought maybe it was a bad day, and gave it one more try. This time, ordered a large with sausage and mushroom and the eggplant parm with linguine. The pizza is not cut, and is undercooked again. They actually never cut through the crust, at all. It’s just not very good. The eggplant parm is reasonably good, but the pasta is mushy and over cooked. Yeah - just not really worth the effort, there are too many quality places around.

I don’t think I’ve ever left a bad review for a restaurant before. I placed an online order through the Google Maps app at 7:45. It immediately gave me an order confirmation and said my order would be ready between 8:25 and 8:30.

I walked in at this location at 8:25 and told an employee that I placed an online order. They told me that online orders only went to their other location in EAV. I asked if they were sure because my confirmation told me to come to this specific address, but they still told me to go to the other location. I called the EAV location and nobody answered.

I drove to EAV, found parking (really fun on a Friday night btw), and walked to the other location. They had no order under my name. I called the original location again, and they told me it was my fault for not specifying that I placed a DoorDash order when I came in. I didn’t place a DoorDash order. I placed an online order through Google that was apparently “powered by DoorDash” (still an online order imo, and I don’t understand how they didn’t know this). But they told me the order was now “there and ready.”

I drove back to the original location, walked inside, and still had to wait for my pizza. It was not in fact “there and ready.” I was then advised to only place call-in orders by phone “for future reference.” Nobody apologized for sending me to EAV. It was eventually ready around 9:00, ~35 minutes after my confirmation said it would be ready. Over an hour after I placed the order. For 1 pizza.

When I got home, the cheese was falling off the pizza, and it was not sliced. Things somehow continued getting worse. The pizza honestly tasted pretty good, but it was in no way worth all of the trouble.

I understand what happened, but the lack of communication from all of the employees I interacted with was just really poor service. A DoorDash order is still an online order, and if it’s such a hassle for the restaurant to accommodate, why is it even an option? I would also understand if they were swamped/short-staffed/etc, but there was 1 other customer in the restaurant when I was there.

Like I said, I don’t leave bad reviews because it’s usually not that big of a deal, but this is one of the worst takeout experiences I’ve ever had. I will not be returning to this...

Our group had the worst experience at Grant Central Pizza last Friday. While I usually love the East Atlanta location we visited the Grant Park. From the food to the service we were horrified. Our server (Simone?) seemed uninterested in interacting with us at all and left us sitting for over 10 min before initially approaching us. Then she left us for another 10 minutes (if not more) before visiting again. The amount of disdain we experienced was palpable. We had a table of 5 and four of us split beer pitchers and pizza while the fifth got a salad. The salad order was incorrect, the pizza took an enormous amount of time to arrive (believe me, I was a server at Mellow Mushroom for 3 years this was BAD) and no updates, visits, comments or anything were provided by the server. All this when there were roughly 4-5 tables taken in the dining room.

We ate the pizzas which was fine and the beer was delicious as usual but when it came to close out Simone was no where to be found. We finally saw her, made eye contact and a quick wave and she rolled her eyes and walked away. No, not like she had to finish a task and walk back, more like she walked away and after waiting another 8-10 minutes we physically went and asked her for boxes and the check.

The following events are what really sealed the deal for being an awful experience:

We had two checks - one with just the salad, one with everything else because at this point we wanted to leave and just venmo figure it out. She takes a card for each check and comes back and has charged the wrong card to each check (or so we thought). At this point we just want to get out and trust her to fix it. Later we found out she didnt charge one cards at all and charged the other card TWICE.

And then... the indigestion. Again, I ate pizza almost 5 days a week for three years and never had issues. No one even ate more than slice each a dinner. ALL four of us were in stomach pain either. The girl with the salad was the only survivor. The range of pain and corresponding consequences was vast. The memory of that night remains a dark part of my weekend.

I will never return to Grant Cenral Grant Park again.

(However I will return to my old fav pizza place - Grant Central EAV -...

Poor customer service and food. I really wanted to love this place. It was in a trendy area and looked cool on the inside. Everyone seemed nice here at first, so that was good. The menu setup was decent. Some of it seemed a little overpriced for just pizza and pasta, but I was willing to overlook it for great food. Unfortunately, that is not what we got. Started with some mozzarella bread. The only thing good on it was the cheese. The dough was thin and lifeless and looked more like a scab than anything. The marinara tasted more like salsa too which was odd. A lot of my friends ordered pizza which they all said it was substandard pizza. The dough still looked unappetizing and burnt. I decided to get BYO pasta. It was good except the server didn't get my order completely right, but it was fixed immediately. My other friends ordered chicken Alfredo and were very disappointed. I tried some only to realize that the Alfredo only tasted like butter and was extremely thin. Another friend tried the lasagna special and said it tasted like it had been frozen and reheated. The food was so heartbreaking for such a best looking place. Finally, cashing out our bill was a nightmare. We were told that they don't separate checks but will allow people to pay with multiple cards. We were fine with that because we frequent a restaurant that was similar. We got the bill though that had a handwritten total on it and different totals that made the bill extremely confusing; nevertheless, we managed to sort out the bill, or so we thought. We begin cashing out and the one server begins telling us our total and how much we have leftover as people are paying. We realize that the total amount we figured did not add up to the total for the bill. The server begins to explain in a very condescending tone that she explained that they usually don't allow parties to split checks for this same reason. If you have this problem often, you should either realize that the problem is your fault or get better and explaining how you figure your totals. It seemed super sketchy that they came up with a total that was $50+ more than our...
