Chois chinese food — Restaurant in Atlantic Beach

First time picking up from here. Decided to give it a try based on reviews. Small stand alone structure with walk up window. Has a drive-thru. First impression: Very busy drive thru, phone orders, walk-ups, and 3rd party delivery pick-ups. Prices are low. Large menu options. Looked promising.

We ordered large shrimp fried rice and large sweet and sour chicken. Small side of chicken lo mein. Egg rolls. Arrived home and there was no sweet and sour sauce for the breaded chicken. Just a few plastic packets. There were 5 small shrimps in the rice. Rice looked regularly cooked and not fried.

Everything tasted terrible. Breaded chicken tasted like onion rings. “Fried rice” was extremely bland. Par-boiled texture. Low mein was questionable.

Choi's is hands down THE best Chinese food at the beach. I hadn't ordered anything from there for a while, and was pleasantly surprised that they have not changed their eggroll recipe! It is spiced with a delicious combination of both slightly sweet and savory. Also, I highly recommend any meal with shrimp, as they serve quality, large shrimp, and offer a generous portion. If you like krab rangoon, I highly suggest their less expensive seafood roll. It is a cream filling with chunks of shrimp. It's delicious! Be careful though. They are served piping hot, crispy, and sometimes squirt out the filling😆 I only gave the atmosphere a two because there is no atmosphere! It's a drive-through. A family-owned Chinese Bistro. When you order the food is not pre-cooked. Served fresh and authentic. A great value if you order right. Best when ordered expecting a reasonable amount of time to cook your selection. If you wish to order for a large group, give ample time; possibly a day or so ahead. The quality is excellent if you remember it's cooked a meal at a time. I've ordered for large parties, though a few days ahead, and have brought my serving platters.
