Mox Ice Cream & Coffee — Restaurant in Atlantic Beach

We stopped here while vacationing in the Jacksonville Beach area and what a great decision that was! My hubby LOVES a good chocolate milk shake and finds they are hard to find. We liked that Mox is locally owned and decided to give it a try. They had a lot of yummy choices to offer and I was shocked when my husband chose a Nutella shake instead of pure chocolate. He was said it was a great choice. He gave me a sip and I concur. It was rich and creamy with a lovely Nutella flavor. He said he could have easily drank two. They offer something I have never heard of - a Love Bun. It consists of ice cream and toppings sandwiched in a fluffy, soft brioche bun and covered in powdered sugar. The bun is heated but somehow the ice cream stays cold. It is a delightful (and much tastier) twist on an ice cream sandwich. I looked them up and they are an Italian treat that has migrated here and is becoming popular across the states. Before leaving, I ordered a Bourbon Vanilla Chia to go. Oh my! I think it’s the best Chia I’ve ever had. The tea is a blend from Mama Zuzu’s, which I wasn’t familiar with, but will now purchase online because I am addicted with only one cup! SOOO good!! We stopped by here after sierra grille to get a dessert coffee but started talking to the guy working in there and he said the soft serve is a unique recipe and let me sample some. It was the best soft serve I’ve ever had and I’m not normally into basic vanilla bean. It even had the black specks like vanilla bean has but soo smooth like a custard mixed with soft serve. They said they’re getting a chocolate soft serve machine soon and going to start adding different flavors as specialties so I’m SUPER excited for that. We ended up just getting the dulce de leche coffee and I got their special cold foam and THAT was also insanely delicious. We got mediums and they are a decent size. You can just tell the ingredients are high quality. I cannot wait to get coffee here again, I’ve needed a good coffee place at the beach I can grab real quick. First visit to this newly opened Ice Cream and Coffee cafe last night and we loved it. We ordered a small Espresso Shake ($6.49) and the Nut n Crunch ice cream sundae ($7.95). Both of these were excellent. I was very happy that the Espresso Shake had a great full taste of espresso. It is made with fresh espresso made to order. The Nut n Crunch features some of our favorite ingredients starting with chocolate and vanilla swirl ice cream, chocolate shell, peanut butter and pretzel pearls. This was excellent. One of the owners served us and he was very nice.
