I have been enjoying Sierra Grille for over 20 years. I obviously like the food. Fast forward to the new joint in Atlantic Beach and I have been rudely disappointed, numerous times. I’m not sure when or why it started but I started receiving poor service from a female cashier named Gabby. She became hostile and rude in handling my concerns over incorrect food orders. There was a cook who was literally medalling with my food , violating food safety and quality service. I had burritos missing key ingredients and small portions of protein. Some of the salsa was incorrect or lacking (ex Ginger chicken burrito). It kept occurring so I spoke up and asked what’s up with these burritos lacking in ingredients and portion of protein. She literally fought with me stating “I am always complaining” when in fact it was the first time in over 20 years of dining I had an issue. There was also a day that I asked them to make the burrito crispy(something Ponte Vedra location always delivered on. The cook (of past) in Atlantic Beach didn't understand the request and took several attempts. Recently, I ordered a vegetarian style burrito. They left out the rice entirely. I did ask for black beans instead of refried. Today march 23rd, 2025 Coi took my order. I ordered a Sierra Salad. They left out the black beans and the guacamole; two key ingredients. Luckily, I was given them on a side dish with no push back or making me feel like I was “complaining” for having my order correctly made. The new guy at the counter was nice and polite about it. I’m glad they hired some new cashiers. Some people have completely missed out on learning customer service and pleasing the customer, especially when the quality of food is suffering ( though I found out it was intentional by a previous cook; thankfully he moved on). If you’re a regular customer, all I ask is to have the quality and service I enjoyed for over 20 years at Sierra Grille. I also tip regularly . Not sure it’s good to reward bad service. I would recommend replacing the glass overhang on the salsa bar, at-least it might keep dust or flying debris from...
Read moreI go here twice a week in between business trips . I love it because of the food. I never stay in to eat because the employees are always sitting around on their phones, while the place is disgusting, floors are disgusting, Tables are disgusting. These people hire a bunch of kids that don’t care. There’s a young girl in there that’s kinda heavy set with long red hair. She is always Sitting in her phone when she should be cleaning. The gentleman at the counter was very kind and helpful doing all the work by himself! I don’t know what’s up with them hiring a bunch of kids they all don’t look like they’re past 16. But I suggest they get a few adults in there that actually care about what the restaurant looks like and what good customer service looks like! Great food though! I just wish I could sit down in there sometimes it’s such a awesome looking place! But the napkins holding the table up the chips all over the floor an Salsaall over the tables, not one clean table to sit at half the time. Someone needs to be supervising those kids much better! I hope they get it together soon so I can eventually come in and sit down! Especially since I come twice a week. This has been an ongoing issue for almost a year now. I figured I would leave a review since no one’s noticing. I need to realize wealthy customers don’t wanna sit in filth and watch kids sit on their phones while I’m spending my hard earned...
Read moreI've been coming to Sierra Grille for over 20 years, but this particular location doesn't seem to live up to the traditional quality and value I've come to expect.
My wife and I always order the same thing; Hawaiian steak burritos. Sadly, this location is consistently inconsistent with how it is prepared. Sometimes the orders are perfect, other times (like today) they're just bad. Today, virtually no sweet sauce and the steak tasted quite burnt. The burritos themselves even looked shriveled up and gross.
And in the past we've been able to substitute the side of chips for broccoli, welp not anymore. There's an upcharge for that now.
I used to be able to ask for bowl with a lid for the salsa bar. The small cups they provide are impossible to dip a chip into. Welp, there's an upcharge for that now too.
We spend almost $40 on two fast-food burritos (which is also now way of hand) and I can't have a plastic to-go bowl?
My wife and I spent $50 at Flying Iguana just a few days ago. A much higher end establishment at the beach. We had tacos and a rice bowl, beers and a margarita. And the food was fantastic and I certainly didn't feel like I wasted my time & money.
I'm done with this location. Ive given chance after chance, but they can't seem to "get it".
Other than the busy crowd, the Sierra Grille at Ponte Vedra has never disappointed us. We will go back there...
