I have stayed at palm suites for the last 9 years. When we first started visiting it was amazing we were able to pick a room of our choice if it was available. The rooms are nicely decorated, they have a place to sit by the water, grill out, fish or just relax and a nice pool just wish it was open later but still overall nice. We really never had any complaints until 4 years ago there was a chicken bone wrapped in a rug on the floor, hair on the extra pillow and a old dried up bug in the corner I let the staff know and they refunded the night because they could not move me until the next day due to no other rooms available. The next year my room key was given out without my knowledge. I came back to someone (who I knew) sitting on the couch demanding that they was given a key and it was there room now. I went down to front desk they said they thought the person was with me and they had asked for a key to my room with my name so the law had to handle that situation After a battle with management over the phone for 2 wks I finally received 1 night reimbursed. I was so bummed about the last 2 stays I didnt even go last yr. So this yr I called and found out it was under new management so I decided what the heck we will try this again. First downfall was i couldnt request a certain room but they said I could put in a special request which I did top floor sound side. On my arrival I was happy to find out my request was given. We went to the room it was clean all except there was a stinky smell like fish coming from the fridge, just figured someone kept fish in there prior to my arrival no big deal. We decided to go visit some things and enjoy the ocean we got back around 9. At around 10:30 my husband & I decided to walk to the beach for a few mins only to get a call from the kids that the smoke alarms where going off so we ran all the way back to the hotel. The alarms went off 2 more times. After that chaos we decided to just go to sleep. We woke up the next morning and the room was at 80° but air was set to 67°. I seen a housekeeper & let her know she said she would get maintenance to check it out I explained to her that I would let her know when because my children where still asleep. I went down to get some coffee & let manager know even though he didn't seem to care he said he would get someone up there to check it out so I explained the same thing to him about my kids being asleep and I would let them know when they got up. I proceeded to go ahead and get the kids up, if you have kids you know when they open there eyes they want food lol so they got ready and we ran down the road to grab some McDonald's to bring back to the room. I left the do not disturb sign up because I dont like people I dont know in my room around my belongings if I'm not there. When I arrive back I find that the maintenance man had been in my room already trying to fix the air, it didnt look like any of my stuff was disturbed so I didnt say anything. He told us he wouldn't be able to fix it and he was going to talk to them about moving us. We ended up getting a different room around 1ish due to not having any clean rooms ready so we packed all our stuff up and moved half way down the hotel. It was a nicer room but the view not so much. We only came for 2 nights so we had to leave the next day. As we were packing we notice sandles that didnt belong to us under the bed and stains all over the inside of the comforter my children's slept in at that point I was just ready to go. At check out I asked them what was going to be done for my inconvenience he replied thats what I'm working on now. He only ended up putting 50% off the 1st night 😡 and at this point I'm not arguing I'm just ready to take my loss and go home! It's very sad because I used to really enjoy going to palm suites but it seems I have had 3 waisted trips in a row😞. **EDIT No one has tried to contact me Mr. Eagle. I did call your office & left all my contact information yesterday aswell and still...
Read moreWhere do I start? Reserved a double bed and couch room, space, for birthday weekend. When we checked in, we were given the wrong room. Joey, at the desk did not care. Nothing he could do. Hmmmm... Then getting into room and settled, as I look around. Ac was dripping onto floor at balcony. Live Hornets nest on balcony. Hair on bed linens, pubic hair on head board, with dust. Fridge liner, full of crumbs. My Phone stuck to the night stand. Pubic hair in the flat shower, on the floor, mold and dirt by shower on the floor. Hair on towels, and across mirror to the blow dryer. A roach casually crossed the room. What looked like bed bug stains on a lamp shade, on the tiny cocktail table in the room. Someone's locked trunk was in the tiny closet provided. We stayed after I cleaned a bit, decided to give it our best. Mind you I stayed here before, and loved it!!!!! When I woke on Saturday, I had red bug bites on my neck and chest, waking up at 6am due to Inconsiderate, guests because my room was right next to the elevator no common sense Signage stating to please be considerate of guests as possibly still sleeping. Then the slamming constantly for hours on end from room 219.... It literally was a slam every 2 minutes for an hour. I then reported that to the desk, Corie is awesome, apologized, offered another room, However, I was told there were none available. So we were completely unpacked and had decorated the room for my daughter's birthday. Knowing I was checking out that following morning I declined she was happy to refund a small bit of the portion, I had spent as a single mother trying to make sure my daughter had a beautiful birthday. We continued to enjoy the gazebo until other guests insisted on using the table. We were already sitting at which was weird and uncomfortable, However , we tried to be friendly and make light of it , even though there were four other tables for people to utilize... That following evening , we enjoyed the pool and some nice downtime , and we were rudely woken up all of us at 2am, Due to the room previously, that was a problem coming back from a night. The guest slammed the door startled all of us awake, which made us nervous, then decided to slam the door 2 more times at 2:09am, for no reason. Then proceeded to be very loud and obnoxious... I called lady at the desk. They did come up and warn the guest. If they had any more reports about the room from other guests, not just me. They would be asked to leave with that, The man then slammed the door after the conversation between them was over, To me that would be the final straw... we finally fell back asleep afterc3am, due to being startled awake, to be woken up again at 630am, due to being next to the elevator... Overall this was a very upsetting experience, and I did take plenty of pictures, incase the office wanted to see what i was talking about. I full heartedly went to enjoy our weekend and was very disappointed in every way. We will never, ever stay there again. $448, for a nightmare stay. No Thankyou! Spend your money elsewhere. Save yourself the heartache,...
Read moreMe and my husband decided to spend the July 4th weekend at Atlantic Beach and stay at Palm Suites. We hung out at the beach on the 4th from the a.m. until check-in. When my husband and I arrived, Corie checked us in. The check-in process was unbelievable. We were confirmed and immediately given a list of rules as opposed to accommodations. Rules such as take a picture of the WIFI sign-in instructions that was located at the front desk because this information would not be in our rooms, we were informed that there were no landlines so if we needed anything we would need to use our personal phones; there would be no housekeeping so if we needed towels we would need to bring our dirty towels to the front desk and request clean ones, no smoking in the rooms, no smoking, eating or cooking in the gazebo, etc. However, we were not informed of where the smoking section was, where the grills were, the overflow for garbage. However, we were told that they provide a $5.00 fishing pass for the Oceanana Pier but either Corie or the other front desk agent could tell us what the pass included or not included. When my husband and I went to our rooms and opened the door we immediately smelled a mildew odor. The walls looked to be patched up in some areas and covered with mismatch paint. There were no chairs on the balcony. The 2 chairs that were at the table in the room we were afraid to sit on because they were very wobbly. The beds were very low to the floor, very thin pillows, and the mattresses were very uncomfortable. The headboards had been made of doors, cute if the hinges would have been removed. Call us anal but we always bring Clorox wipes and Lysol any time we stay at a motel/hotel. We began to wipe the table and nightstand and countertops off and noticed how dirty they were. We pulled back the sheets to make sure they were clean and oddly there was one wash cloth on each bed strategically placed in the center of the bed between the comforter and the top sheet (go figure). At this point all we wanted to do was take a shower and clean off the sand and sweat and look around to find out where the gazebo and the grills were located. As we were walking, we almost walked past the pool. It was small almost like a spa and very dirty. The next morning, I gathered our 2 towels, 2 wash clothes, 1 hand towel to exchange for clean ones but I was told there were no clean ones and I would have to wait until 5 p.m. I overheard Corie tell another guest she could rinse the sand off in the pool. We used extra beach towels that we brought with us for shower towels the remainder of our stay. 9:00 a.m. on checkout day a housekeeper busted in the room without knocking just as I was coming out of the bathroom. I know that each room is individually owned but the owners should be on one accord with Palm Suites. Overall, the room was disgusting, hotel staff was awful, nothing in walking distance, parking horrible, not close to the beach at all. Will not be...
