Bahia Beach House & Surf Bar — Restaurant in Atlantic Beach

Food was delicious! The mahi special was great! Our service tonight however was terrible. We immediately ordered appetizers and drinks after being seated. We heard they do daily specials. Asked our waitress to which she had to pull out a notebook then she replied “tonight’s appetizer well doesn’t matter anymore and we’re out of it anyway”….. since we had already ordered appetizers and they were out so I guess it didn’t matter but would’ve been nice to know before ordering anything. Was very obvious that our waitress was not thrilled to be working. We each ordered dinner and one of the plates sent out was incorrect. Instead of comping the plate for the 15 minute wait, was offered free dessert. A $45 mahi dinner to an $10 cheesecake doesn’t equal. Appreciate the recognization of the wrong plate and that my correct plate came out hot off the grill but for an almost $100 dinner I expected better service and attention. Our reservation was at 7 pm. We left shortly after 9 pm. Compliments to the hostess she was so professional and friendly, but she left around 8:30. I wouldn't recommend this disappointing place to anyone. If it weren't for the dishes we'd seen online and the plethora of positive reviews, we probably would've walked out immediately after our interaction with the host. He was rude and arrogant, condescending us because we hadn't made reservations. For 2. On a Sunday evening. At a self-proclaimed "Surf bar" !! Flabbergasted, we managed to inform him that we planned to sit at the bar, and made our way through the hectic, cluttered space to the only 2 open seats. The bartender, who provided the only respite from this awful experience, recommended an appetizer. We obliged, unaware of the mistake we had made. Upon further inspection of the menu, we realized they had not updated their online format. Much to our chagrin, they no longer served the item we had specifically come for. We decided to just go elsewhere, feeling as if we were in the way amongst the chaos, but we'd already ordered a starter and were eager to try it. 45 minutes later, our calamari appetizer finally arrived, and it certainly did not live up to our expectations. My husband and I went to Atlantic Beach for work and then after an exhausting day we started to Google a restaurant near our hotel and the name of the restaurant caught our attention because we are from Brazil so we decided to go there, at first the man who greeted us at the door was very rude when I asked if we could sit somewhere further away from the door because that night was cold and his reaction disappointed me as he was the first person to greet you at the door then came the waitress with a very different name (Sashell) with that captivating smile, very friendly, and full of life. She is very professional at what she does because we asked some questions about the menu and she knew how to explain everything in detail, unfortunately I can't give it 5 stars because of the person who greeted us at the door and i think he should be more trained to do his job more efficiently.
