I'm not the type to tell people when I'm so displeased that I want to scream but I legitimately hated every second of my experience here at Applebee's. I was greeted slowly when I walked in and when I said I wanted to do something as simple as takeout, I was directed to sit on the side of the bar where I proceeded to make eye contact with every employee that worked there hoping someone would take my order. I was undeniably ignored and I don't know if it was me having hope that I didn't just walk into a restaurant that never takes orders or if I was feeling particularly impatient, but I waited for 15 minutes and no one talked to me. The hostess never even checked on me or the bartender. I might as well have been invisible. But it's like 10:30 and nothing else is open so I order online even though I specifically came in to verbally tell my order because I wanted one change that I couldn't find in the online options in the first place. I ordered something different. After waiting for another 10 minutes I went back in the fray only to be told to wait at the bar directly by the hostess.I spent 5 minutes sitting waiting for a nonexistent bartender to come from the back and another 3 minutes waiting for her to actually talk to me all the while sitting in front of a finished plate of boneless wings that were messy and unappetizing. She tried to bring me a menu but I informed her I already ordered without her assistance and it took another 5 minutes to get my food. By the time I got back to my house, that wasn't even that far away, my food was cold and the fries were gross and stale. I'm disappointed and have never had such awful service before. Your 3.9 ranking is way too high for my comfort....
Read moreAs a student at Oakland University, I often celebrate a variety of special occasions such as game days, graduation parties, birthday parties, and the end of a semester at this location. I often go with large groups ranging from 8-16 people, and we expect to wait a long time to be seated. However, the regular host consistently manages to seat my group within half an hour on a busy Friday night which is a testament to their impressive coordination and efficiency.
When I go for a casual drink with a few friends, the bartenders are always lively and stop by for a chat in-between serving other customers. Their friendliness contributes to the atmosphere and welcoming nature of this location.
I want to specifically shout out the server Maria. I’ve been lucky enough to be placed in her section every time I go to this location. She is friendly, matches the energy of the group, is very knowledgeable of the food and drink menus, is able to answer any question my group throws at her, and most impressively she remembers people she has seen before such as myself. She goes above and beyond to ensure a great time and effortlessly engages in the banter of whatever group I bring. Most recently for my graduation party I had asked her to guess which other person at the table was my brother and she played into the bit. Moments like these make the experience more memorable. This type of service really demonstrates her excellence in customer care and being able to adapt to various groups of customers while remaining professional and knowledgeable.
Overall, I highly recommend this Applebee’s location for its great atmosphere and exceptional service, especially if you have the pleasure of being...
Read moreHands down the worst dining experience IVE EVER HAD. The only good thing I can say is the restaurant was clean and the hosts were friendly. Upon arrival we were informed that they were short staffed, which was fine no biggie. We sat for 15 minutes until a server finally came over, he approached the table with a horrible attitude not friendly at all, he took our order for spinach dip and chips and our drinks. The dip came the drinks did not. We didn't receive any water or anything. The party I was with complained that they chips were too salty the waiter hesitantly took them back and brought out more. 15 minutes later still no drinks. Once again the chips were too salty and we were told the manager made them and she tasted them and didn't think they were. We decided we might just leave since it wasn't going well. While we were debating the waiter said well let me know what you decide and walked off. We ended up leaving and sat the money down for the spinach dip, even a extra few dollars even though we ate maybe 5 chips at the most. As we're leaving the parking lot I see the waiter creeping beind our truck he says he's getting our plate number I asked him why and he starts full on yelling at my wife saying we dined and dashed and he's calling the police. I told him fine we can wait on them and he yells just get out of here. I have never ever in my life been so disrespected, profiled, and appalled by a dining experience. I spoke to a manager who was very great and apologetic, he told me I would get a gift card. Which I still haven't received he said it would take awhile but it's going on day 3 I believe. Bottom line is I will never ever go back to...
