I tried this place for the first time today. I had heard good things and decided today was the day. I ordered the deal that included a medium 2 tops pizza, cheese bread, and a 2 liter. I added an extra item to my pizza so all together it came to about 24 dollars. That is not a bad price at all. I walked into the resturant and it was clean, so that's the first plus. I was also surprised by it's size and seating area. I was immediately greeted by the gentleman behind the counter, he was very pleasant. I told him I was picking up and he informed me I had a couple minutes left. While waiting I shared with him that this was my first time there and that I had heard good things. He confidently told me that I would be back. I told him I come from a family whose grandparents owned a pizza restaurant a long time ago in the Northern region of Michigan and because of that my family are pretty tough pizza critics. But I see why the gentleman was so confident and he is right I can see myself going back. The medium pizza was a good size, I personally thought it was a little bigger than other pizza places medium size. The toppings were generous and fresh (yes you can taste the difference). I love olives on pizza both green and black, and normally pizza places seem to be a little stingy with the olives but not Larco Bros. The pizza was cooked well not under cooked and not over done. I did think the pepperoni was a bit spicy for my taste but that's fine I just will order a different topping next time. I don't like spicy food and am very sensitive to it so it may just be me. The cheese bread was very good and the pizza sauce had an excellent flavor. I'm not sure if they make it in house but if they do kudos to the recipe, don't change a thing about it. I've been searching high and low for a good pizza restaurant around the area so as long as they remain consistent I will definitely be back. Thank you Larco Bros for the...
Read moreFast forward 2 years since the last time I was at this location. During the week of July 27th, I am coming in from Texas this is one of my main stops when I am in town. Let's just say some things have changed. Per my last communicate 2 years ago and here's an example below.. ( The two guys I were speaking with, Mike the owner and George the man who runs the shop I guess we're awesome and professional. )
The folks who are running the place now are professional don't get me wrong however they love to stare at a mixed African-American / Italian person. It was to the point that I felt extremely uncomfortable. Not sure what that means but nonetheless I kept it going the food is good and awesome. One of the ladies that I asked whether or not Mike is still the owner and would like to talk to him just to say Hi, like last time.
She actually asked me what's the purpose or reason why I wanted to speak with him. Not sure how to respond.. Yet she never told me his response. Did not get a response even after the stairs and the looks and the uncomfortable looks.
Getting back to the food, the Mediterranean salad was good as well as the pizza after I requested to put butter and garlic on the ends. Mike would have known this but I guess he was too busy, no worries. That personal customer service seems to have been eroded a bit but all in all the food is good.
Bottom line is customer service is Paramount. Hopefully I will not get stares the next time - if there is a next time. Would have been nice to say hi...
Read moreIf there were anyway to give 10 stars to this place. I would. Very nice restaurant and very Italian authenticity. The two guys I were speaking with, Mike the owner and George the man who runs the shop I guess we're awesome and professional. I asked for a recommendation on type of pizza they gave me one - Deluxe or Supreme pizza and I just went with it. OMG it was so hot and so fresh it was unbelievable. We were having a wonderful conversation during this entire process, soon the entire staff joined our conversation. All were very nice and very personable. This was my first time coming to this place - July 29th. I was welcomed as family, which was strange at first because that doesn't normally happen. I was celebrating my marriage anniversary, and were looking for something simple and receive this recommendation to stop here from Offc John J. - Auburn Hills Police Dept from the Shell station on Opdyke Rd (see review - Bobby J.Shell station). Dude was way cool - to be a police officer (kidding).. personality was top notch. This restaurant was spot on. Pizza - very tasty and the staff made it worth coming back the next time I am in the area. Thanks Mike and George and staff. ...
